kabira Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 ^it can become an issue if other issues are not dealt with...i.e pseudo secularism... Right now VHP and its offshoots do not have strong support. Lot of hindus despise them including me. There is something called Cause and Effect....Why talk about Effect, when you can't control Cause.
The Outsider Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 ^ The 'cause' being discussed is external terror attacks. The possibility being discussed is that terror attacks by external groups may result in a rise of Hindu extremism against local Muslims. That is a dangerous possibility because it can result in far greater law and order problems than the terror attacks themselves. Just because Rahul Gandhi has not mentioned the notion that if these external attacks are eliminated the possibility of the above happening decreases dramatically in the leaked cable, does not mean that he is unaware of it. He has only pointed out one of the undesired effects of these terror attacks. But while the 'cause' is being eliminated (and I am not saying we are doing close to enough on it), does not mean that we do not try to minimize the damages from the 'effects'
coffee_rules Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 BS. it is because of psec attitudes more than terror organisations, (the people who believe in Aa bail mujhe maar) is what is causing the extremist Hindu groups to justify their cause on existence.
ravishingravi Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 What Rahul Gandhi is saying is that more than the external terrorists - LeT, Pakistan - the problem which the country might face is the backlash of Hindu extremists towards local Muslims rather than these external terror groups, who are the root cause. Don't see what's wrong with that. So, are you implying a "perceptive" terror can be more dire or dangerous than "real" terror as it exists. About 8 months from 26/11 Rahul Gandhi believes the potential backlash of Hindu terror groups whose number of people caught and no. of attacks is negligible in comparison to LET is a greater terror threat than LET. Emphasis on "greater", because he is talking to US ambassador.
yoda Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 ^ If the Republican hate transpired into targeted riots and killing of general Muslims, it will become a greater problem than Al Qaida itself. So are people talking about that Hypothetical in the US? No cause it is absurd to talk about imagined possibilities when you have more concrete realities to fight against, unless there is a strong evidence to suggest that such a possibility is more likely that not. There have been many instances of Pakistan sponsored terrorism on Indian soil recently including the Parliament bombings, IISC bombings and 26/11. In none of those instances have local Muslims been targeted by anyone. So what is the foundation of this hypothetical of his?

I think its time for BJP to bring back Hindutatva to fore-front again.. The idiots like Rahul Gandhi should never become PM....His mom came to politics so that Congress can win based on Great Gandhi family... Rahul talks about Narendra Modi...LOL..there hasnt been any riots for 10 years now...Gujarat has been peaceful and even muslims have started to vote for him (recent municipal elections)...
seedhi Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 What Rahul Gandhi is saying is that more than the external terrorists - LeT, Pakistan - the problem which the country might face is the backlash of Hindu extremists towards local Muslims rather than these external terror groups, who are the root cause. Don't see what's wrong with that. What is wrong is that it is not based on any evidence. For example, in the early 1990s when Hindus were cleansed from the Kashmir valley, did any revenge ethnic cleansing take place anywhere? After all India has been facing the LeT problem for over 15-20 years now, if a revenge bloodbath had to occur, it would have. Moreover, the biggest problem to me is that Rahul Gandhi was NOT asked about Hindu extremists, the question that Roemer asked him was about the threat to India from the LeT, around 5 months after 26/11. Instead, Rahul Gandhi minimized the threat of LeT by deflecting blame to Hindu extremists based on a presumption. Ashok Malik made the following apt analogy - imagine that 5 months after 9/11 the Indian Ambassador to the US was dining with a US Congressman and he asks the Congressman about Al-Qaeda's threat to the US. Can you imagine the US Congressman deflecting blame on the white supremacists and racists who might carry revenge attacks on US muslims. Impossible. Lastly, Rahul Gandhi has just armed pakistan with another excuse to not act against the terror outfits.

This dynasty politics is an absolute bane to our country.. hate these 'scions' who get a freeride into the parliament because of the people who are absolute sheep to swayed by the surname... Raul needs to be told that Modi has done for Gujrat what he and his cronies can't in a hundred years..
seedhi Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 The serious question to ponder upon is what is the mentality of RG that he takes upon himself to deflect a pointed query about LeT to segue into his perception of Hindu extremism. And that too in a conversation with a foreign ambassador. How many 26/11s, Kaluchaks, Mumbai train blasts does he need to stop linking LeT to Hindu extremism. And by the way, who is a Hindu extremist? It is such a general term and cannot be compared to LeT in any case. A Hindu who refuses to eat food with a Muslim may be called a Hindu extremist but does that make him a bigger danger than LeT cadres .. obviously not. If RG had a bit more clarity in thought he should have at least named a Hindu organization to compare to LeT which is well defined entity with known people heading it and an ideology which calls for destruction of India. To compare it with some amorphous concept as Hindu extremism is in itself a betrayal of his shallow understanding.
straight.drive Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 One thing is for sure: US diplomats must be laughing their asses off after the meeting with the prince of sickular extremists, namely rahul bhaaba. This kid has a unmatchable skill at stooping a step down from his record levels of stupidity. Tomorrow he would declare that Ayodhya, Somnath and Mathura temples were destroyed by hindu "extremists" in the middle ages to "smear" a certain religion of peace.

Don't see what's wrong with that. If that is what rahul said, then he is factually wrong. It is quite well known that hinduism, her culture and literature and architecture and splendor, was plundered and raped by barbaric Islamic invaders. You can even read up the islamic sources(especially the biography of Timur), and all of them proudly celebrate this destruction. Even then the "backlash" hindus "unleashed" on followers of the convicted faith was miniscule and negligible Hindu's will NOT "radicalize" and tie suicide belts to waist As usual, rahul bhaaba has made an ass out of himself and displayed his epic "expertise" of history before seasoned US diplomats.
Clarke Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh launched a sharp attack on the RSS and the BJP, likening their "hatred" towards Muslims to that of the Nazis towards the Jews and claiming that the "roots of terrorism" in India lie in BJP leader L K Advani's 1992 Rath Yatra. The words Hitler/Nazi/Fascist have made an entry in Indian politics as well :two_thumbs_up:
vaibhav_delhi Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Rahul gandhi has done what a traitor would do.
jaihind Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 He is a disgrace to India...it is known throughout the world that muslims have radical elements ingrained into their traditions and belief systems...How dare Rahul Gandhi make such a statement, he is asking for an election drubbing..what a stupid thing to say, makes absolutely no sense, and all u people who are trying to justify his statement are morons because u make no sense just like him
jf1gp_1 Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 well the reason he is saying these things boldly ( BTW Mata Rome has stepped in to support Beta Rome ) is because they know there are enough stupid people who will buy this. India produces such people by the millions and this is why the harami kangress has been able to rule and completely destroy the country for over 50 yrs. He wouldnt say these things if he knew his butt would get kicked literally and figuratively if he said such things. Completely the fault of the population by and large. As they say if you are willing to get ***ked there will always be someone to do the honors. I remember when the whole ayodhya issue was at its peek, i was young and didnt understand the issue but what i do remember were the riots and how our school used to be closed for days. We used to live in MP back then and though we lived in army area , i remember hearing all these horror stories from kids who lived in civil area. We thankfully post gujarat have moved away from such environment; the question is do we really want to go back to those days. Though i have a much larger concerns when it comes to the direction India is going in when it comes to handling minority related issue; i certainly dont want us to go back to ayodhya days.

RSS should really turn into Schutzstaffel (SS) and throw all these Congee ****s into the bay of bengal (just because I get my fish from the Arabian sea..:winky:)... jf1gp_1 Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 so how do most view zaheer khan ? an Indian cricket player or muslim Indian cricket player
hari504504 Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 No Issues with ALL muslims... Hinduism has no concept of 'infidels' remember.. only issues are with the muslims who fly the Pak flag in their Mohallas well within India.. Zaheer is an Indian cricket player through and through for me.. so is Kaif,Irfan,Yusuf
yoda Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 BB is right. People vote them to power and they think people actually like this, so they have made it their policy. It is a joke that the Congress has made RSS the top security problem in the country when we have a sworn enemy and it's child outfits ready to strike anytime anywhere. Even during the Congress Plenary meeting recently, RSS was made an important issue. They are doing it because in their mind doing so will make a clear distinction between them and the BJP there by making BJP a party which supports terrorism and hence unfit to get elected.
