Raina should be dropped for Tests

Raina has to be dropped from the test team. He is seriously quota player in terms of technique especially against bouncers and he is pathetic to say the least. Gauti is also not that good against bouncers but he has got better technique and learns quickly but Raina does not have that talent. I would go for 7 class batsmen for all weather conditions in that test team who have great technique. Pujara should surely get the chance from the next match onwards. If Kohli can gradually gain patience like he has been doing in recent ODIs then I would not mind giving him the chance too but then Kohli will need to prove against bouncers first which he can do in the ODI series in SA and then only will he be eligible to have his talent judged for all conditions.

raina has potential, all our batsmanfailedin the1st innings, thats where everyone should get a collective boot up there backsides... i wouldve prefered yuvi, but hes not in the team, our problem is that we dont play enough on sporting wickets, and when we do our heros look like zeros! lets address the pitch problems first in india, and get the batting coaches to work with raina,he needs a run if still struggling by all means pujara should be given a chance, also we need to play a 5 test match series!!

He shoudl work on his technique.. And menAL approach is also important. He is too talented a batsman. hE IS for the future, be it test, ODI ....

No.6 is a key spot in Tests especially overseas. I think we are wasting this key spot and it makes this line up very vulnerable.
a contribution of at least 15-20 runs per innings would be a start and in fact if he managed that in this game it could have been so different. for one we would be in positive runs credit by now. 'the walking wicket' is a liabilty and needs to be disposed of.

Raina is worse in Test than Imran Farhat.
no doubt about this one.....esp when raina comes in with a soft ball and farhat has been opening in the toughest conditions: nz/aus/eng and scored two match winning innings and farhats leg spin is much better than raina's off spin

Don't think there's any doubt Pujara is coming in next match Raina is totally out of it, its got into his head and he just doesn't know what to do
i sure hope the selectors think like you....if they dont then it will be one of the all time selectorial **** ups.

Yuvraj Puj Vij In this order. Please give me a guy who is responsible. Not like Raina who doesn't understand match situations. Yuv for sure would have graduated by now. Raina by no means maturing. Cant judge the BOUNCE..

Pujara and Kohli are certainly better players(no doubt in Indian conditions)..let's see if they can replicate their fabulous performances in a country like South Africa, they are certainly more deserving than Raina, he has been letting us down for a while now...and Murali Vijay, i think he also has some work to do because he hasn't taken advantage of the opportunities he's been given.. As for Badrinath, he was impressive on debut(against south africa in nagpur when virtually rest of team failed), i think he should be given 2-3 more chances to prove himself. I think the following are candidates to replace Raina in this order 1.Pujara 2.Kohli(maybe not yet ready for tests) 3. Badrinath p.s. Manish Pandey should definately be given a chance in the ODI series

Its hilarious if people think that Pujara might make runs if selected in place of Raina and save team India. South africa is a tough school for indian players. Even experienced players like Sachin, Dravid, Ganguly and Laxman hardly made hundreds spontaneously as other countries over the last 12 years they toured south africa. I think the real killer had been the lack of practice match. If that would have been there, we could have tested raina in that and made some judgement. I just think another left hander may be good at Rainas position. A case in point is Ganguly who has consistently done well in south africa, when our right handers were generally poor in previous tours.

yeah but the difference is to get Pujara out it will take a highly quality ball unlike Raina who was dismissed off to filfth deliveries. When sachin and dravid- used to struggle in south africa it was becos the bowling was high quality. i have no issue with players getting out to very good balls.....but do have issues with raina for not being able to hand jacques kallis

PUJARA and KOHLI are in good forms and should be playing tests ahead of Raina and Kohli..thats a certainity as there game really suits a test match game. Actually both these guys need to be in as soon as possible. i see VVS , sachin and even dravid not lasting longer than 6 months to 12 months... PUJARA ,KOhli, Murli ( though i have a lil doubt) are sure shot success guys..raina will bounce back and so will yuvi

Hate him as much as you want. But he's not going anywhere. As due to some strange logic, Raina deserves more chances than every friggin batsman playing test cricket in India, for he got one 100 on an Indian highway pitch and it was ofcourse, a very testing wicket! For cricket's sake, get the man who can't handle a 125k trundler out of the team and bring someone in who atleast isn't scared of facing bouncers. Raina, the Super King, is a disgrace. His teammate from CSK, Vijay atleast has some nerve to play Test cricket.

Badrinath's career is over. There are so many players in the reckoning and age is not in his side.
