coffee_rules Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 This is not the first time he has opened his mouth after getting wickets. He is a repeat offender. He blames the pitches, crowd, opposition for not getting wickets, and other bowlers when he gets a few wickets.
Ranjha Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 No' date=' Harbhajan has not had a tough year. He has had a tough 5 years where he averages around 38. In other words he has more or less sucked for the last 5 years barring the odd performance here and there.[/quote'] During the 5 years, who is the highest wicket taker for India combined for those years? Out of the test India have won during those 5 years, could you show me that other bowlers performed better than him by taking more wickets in total. I will give up then! Yes, fast bowlers brought India back. Harbhajan did a decent job of picking up 4 tail end wickets at Durban out of his tally of 6. Good, decent effort to knock the tail out quickly. Nothing more than that. Spinners usually take out a lot of lower order batsmen generally plus the wicket of amla in the first innings turned the game on its head. and there are 3 fast bowleres or should I say trundlers ..dont used the combined tally of them against one spinner...maybe harbhajan should open the bowling on a green pitch on day 1 too BTW, this thread is about the buffoon mouthing off on his fellow bowlers in case you did not notice. He is just talking in general. He is not naming anyone. I doubt anyone in Indian team is losing sleep over it. Harbhajan is a very popular team member. They probably will if they read the abuses about them on this forum.

He blames the pitches' date=' crowd, opposition for not getting wickets, and other bowlers when he gets a few wickets.[/quote'] and you blame him regardless of what he does...whats new? pitches in India are not the same anymore. whats so new about it? The seamers could have bowled better in this test? whats so wrong about it? when did he blame crowd? he clearly said he is not criticizing.
King Tendulkar Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 This is not the first time he has opened his mouth after getting wickets. He is a repeat offender. He blames the pitches' date=' crowd, opposition for not getting wickets, and other bowlers when he gets a few wickets.[/quote'] True he should not have said it. But come on dont you think we are over recting to his comments, I mean he just said it and frankly should have engaged brain before speaking and no doubt regrets saying it. But thats all. He is being slaughterd here like he has slagged of whole team:hysterical: Come on he is not a politician so now and then players will **** up in interviews.

A contrast to the lame justifications being put up by other Harbhajan 'supporters'. He would not have been slaughtered as much if people were not offering lame excuses for something inexcusable.
King Tendulkar Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Good post. A contrast to the lame justifications being put up by other Harbhajan 'supporters'. He would not have been slaughtered as much if people were not offering lame excuses for something inexcusable. Well it was a silly thing to say. But thats all. He probably only said what everyone was saying in dressing room. Yet he caught caught out and said it publicly. But thats it. No idea why he is getting soooooooooo hammered for it like he has slept with other players wives or something.
King Tendulkar Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 "I don't know what was the plan but I think we could have created more chances throughout the day. We didn't bowl the right length. I'm not being critical but just giving my honest opinion that we could have taken a bit more wickets with our seamers. There is still pace and carry and we've seen that their seamers have taken a lot of wickets," he said after day's play. I mean look at the offending element above. I mean its hardly horrific slandering. Should have not said it but thats it. It does not suddenly make him a disgrace to humanity as some are trying to potray here:haha:
The Outsider Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 ^ The part where he compares our seamers with theirs is definitely below the belt. Wonder if anyone rebuked him in public like that when Mendis and Murali out bowled him in 2008? And will he come and and say he was wrong, now that we saw even South African seamers did not do anything in the second innings?
achilles Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 He does not need to rub it into his own teammates to the press' date=' FFS. Seriously, what's with this boy-scout attitude with Dhoni and this guy? There are no brownies being handed out.[/quote'] Kumble handled the team with aggression and awesome team-spirit. Dhoni can maybe take a cue and try implementing something on those lines in his book. C'mon MS, nip this in the bud, for today it was Bhaj and tomorrow, you do not want a situation where everyone is his own captain and expert.
King Tendulkar Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Yeah he should not have said and needs to be more media smart. Its not as if he does this regularly. Everyone is seriously over reacting!!!! I mean Dhoni has a pop at all the bowlers after test one saying they have to do better. Yet no one said a word against that!
achilles Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Bhajji will not get the kind of reaction Sree did. And that is ONLY because he picked up the wickets in 2 tests. This is life. Had Sree picked up say 15 wickets this series, people would not be as critical towards him as they were. Its tough being a sportsman.
punjabi_khota Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Although the comment is in bad taste, I think he said it in the heat of the moment. It is obvious he is disappointed, and he wanted his own 7 wickets not go waste and result in a victory.
achilles Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 ^ Bhaj might go down soon if he doesn't become humble. Sree is atleast humble off the field. He keeps having a go everytime at the batsmen, but is also the first to congratulate a batter when he gets to a 100 or so (Prince & Sree in SA is a popular moment). Bhajji is arrogant in whichever public event I've seen that are aired on tv.
someone Posted January 7, 2011 Author Posted January 7, 2011 Harbhajan is a overrated spinner, will always be in 2nd class. But as the main and most experienced bowler, his comments are not very good. Just imagine, Tendulkar coming out today and saying I would have the world cup if my teammates were better. That is total disaster. Recently over the 15 years, India has never ever have had a quality bowler, it is very stupid for the bowlers to start the blame game for that.

Let us look at his very recent exploits. For example in the year 2010 if one were to pay close attention to the top 10 wicket takers in Tests HS's average is at the very bottom. I mean this guy has been downright atrocious overall in 2010 for a bowler that has the No1. spinner tag in the team. We have come to a point now where we can count more on his batting than bowling in Tests. And here in this test he had the audacity to call out the seamers after doing ok not great mind you with the ball where two wickets were gift wrapped to him in that last over of the day by SA who had a 340 run lead at that point as a thank you for conceding 120 runs.
King Tendulkar Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Well the atrocious Bhaji was 7th highest wicket taker in tests in 2010. And apart from swann was best spinner
pensionplan Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Well the atrocious Bhaji was 7th highest wicket taker in tests in 2010. And apart from swann was best spinnerYes at a 85 S/R and 41 average per wicket taken. Swann has a 54 S/R and a 26 average per wicket taken. There is no comparison there. And to put some more perspective to this IS has a 38 average per wicket taken and 59 S/R in 2010. Enough said. But that should not stop you from enjoying him and his great deeds as you see it. Keep going.
Homerus_Unus Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Abe lallu.... Says the doofus who can't comprehend what's being discussed. He didnt pick any one bowler. No, he just picked on all of them- Ishant, Zaheer, and Sreesanth. Can you count? That's three of them. Not to mention, the guy couldn't even find his game in the first test and needed the return OF A SEAMER to get his mojo working in the second test- something he wholeheartedly acknowledged to the press. Just saying in general and not criticizing Just saying in general- It's hard to distinguish where Bhajji's brown-eye ends and your lips begin. "Seamers could've bowled better"- that's not criticism? At this point, I'm guessing you probably need crayons for the point to be illustrated that criticism need not come with a side of verbal and physical abuse. ...why you getting ur panties in a knot? Dang! You must have patted yourself on the back and given yourself a handshake after that novelty of a zinger! Where's that "hysterical" smiley that's so commonly appended in every damn response that you fan-boys make?
pensionplan Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 I have no time waste on someone who within the first few posts starts insinuating criticism of Harbhajan maybe because of his religion. So' date=' you can also save yourself some time by not quoting my posts because you are not going to get any replies.[/quote']I am convinced this arsenal guy is is none other than Dhillon_28 himself in a new avatar.
Lord Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 its not as if seamers were completely useless.Zak got ABDV at crucial stage n even Prince's wicket was timely.from then on it was Bhajji's job to go thru Boucher n the tail
