The amounts for which the players were retained have not been disclosed. The cut from the cap is just that, and has no bearing on the actual amount the players were paid.

So I am sure the 4 players will receive a deserving value as they negotiated with the CSK management. So Albie is getting less than those who went for auction !!

No. He can negotiate contract value with the franchisee. 500k is only his base price and that was deducted from CSK's bidding cap of $ 9mil. Actually MI's and CSK's decision to retain the players was a very good move indeed!

Albie has serious talent and performed well for CSK in all three editions. Granted he is not in form now, but knowing his serious hitting power, 500K is a great price for him. With Ashwin being the best T20 bowler for us, Murali wont be missed a lot We should have retained Murali instead of Albie :((
VRV Singh Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 I think CSK have put together the best side so far. Re-signing the likes of Ashwin and Dougie should prove very astute...overpaid for Badri for sure, but it seems every team has some sort of WTF value player in their ranks

No other team have such a strong Indian lineup DC has virtually none MI has just 2 in Sachin and Nohit ( harbhajan is no good in t20) DD has only Sehwag KXIP - Almost none ( KKD and Praveen are quite decent) Kochi - Big zero Pune - Excellent two picks in Yuvi and Uthappa KKR - Yusuf Pathan is a great buy, Gambhir is a good choice RR - Zero RCB - Kohli and Tiwary Not sure if you meant this, here it is http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/story/495897.html Let's just hope Albie turns out good.
