He'd some sorta role with the Warriors, I'm sure. Dav Whatmore is my pick too. :two_thumbs_up:

Debutant Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 India certainly doesnt need a guy who has a huge stature, who would be more in the news than the team.It would be better for India to have a guy who will be low key.So people like Warne,Kumble,Akram,Bedi,Lara should not be considered.IMO Fleming.

Dav Whatmore is my pick too. :two_thumbs_up: i would select ALLAN DONALD as the coach...WHY?? india has dearth of genuine fast bowling talent and indian coaches have the capability to mess with what ever talent we have and we have great batsman and good batsmen sitting on the bench, we need a guy like aDonald who has the eye of a fast bowler and can create another srinath or a ZAK ..i remember donald coaching sreesanth a bit and sreesanth came back with a fifer specially when he returned out of oblivion... we shud get donald as coach ..best man to get good fast bowling is donald .. we already have batsman and spinners ..as soon as we have fast bowlers we will bcome genuine NO 1 in world.

Donald.. make him India's coach and bring our pace attack better... i am surprised guys r voting for KUMBLE as well... he was always a horrible fielder ... he could never bcome a reliable batsmen till he retired.. he was only a genuine spinner. i mean he can only help us to create spinners, fielding he hardly knows and batting...no batsmen will hear his guidance. with Donald being the coach he can atleast really train pacers...as batting and spin i feel we can handle ourselves...

Mariyam Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Honest question: What exactly is the role of a coach?? People want a fast bowler to coach India, because we want to develop our bowlers further. Fair enough, but the real coaching should come to the bowlers (and Batsmen) when in their formative years. You can't teach an old horse ( Zaheer/Nehra, and no disrespect to the horse family) new tricks. I think the coach's job should be limited to setting the team strategy.

He may not be Kirsten at all and definitely not as bad as Chappell- but ahem.. some egos in the team need to be cut down to size.
