Tom Moody:Because he too is a hard worker like Kirsten and Wright.He doesn't have an ego,is experienced in handling subcontinental players(Lanka).Most importantly he has a point to prove.He was a pretty good player but couldn't play much because of the very strong lineup the Aussies possessed at that time.Had he been in any other team he would have achieved much more as a cricketer.

Fleming would perhaps more fit into the Indian team coach mold. He also has good rapport with MSD and many of the players and that might help.

Sorry Forgot to mention why Jimmy, this year we have lot of tours abroad, Jimmy can teach our new boys how to play fast bowling, and also spin bowling, To me Jimmy was better then Gavaskar and Vengsarkar as his runs have mostly came when India was in trouble, against tough apposition, despite being dropped so many times every time he comeback he performed. so he can give never giveup attitude to our team. Plus he is a bowler to so he can take a look at that aspect with the help of Venky, BTW who is our present bowling coach, that guys has taken some free money from India and has done nothing, you look at Ishant, Sree, Nehra, Munaf all are performing below par, we in india think that everything that is done by people with white skin is all good, Venky was very good as coach, he improoved Ishant in just two month time.

I’d have preferred an Indian coach this time around.. Somebody who already knew the player and the system.. That way, he can just come in and get started on day 1, rather than having to spend some time trying to develop a rapport with the players. We’re already the no.1 team in the world. Its not like this team doesn’t know what to do. All we need now is continuity, not fresh ideas. With that in mind, Anil Kumble would have been a great pick. Not just is he one of India’s greatest cricketers who is widely respected among the players, the BCCI guys are probably wary of him too, because of his stature. So in certain cases where a foreign coaches might shy away from a confrontation with the board (like for example, resting key players for fringe ODI series), Kumble will be a lot more forthright. But he’s obviously chosen a role within the KSCA Among the other options listed, Stephen Fleming looks to be a good pick. He has many things working in his favor – He’s still young. We’ve often read news paper reports on how Gary Kirsten would work the hardest in the nets, giving the batsmen 1000s of throwdowns in one session. So important that the coach is reasonably young and physically fit. No.2, he was a specialist batsmen in his playing days. You’d always want your head coach to be a batsmen, because it the batsmen of the team who need constant input and monitoring to iron the flaws/kinks in their games. A specialist bowling coach would do for the bowlers. He led his team with great acclaim for nearly a decade and is widely credited for being one of the best modern-day captains. So he knows what it is, to lead and mentor a team and that’s an extremely important skill. Lastly, in his role wih CSK, he has also worked half a dozen Indian players, including the most important one, our captain. So they will already have a comfort-feel with him and he would have already gotten a sense of what it is, to coach a team in the Indian set-up.

I wouldn't mind If we get Ravi Shastri as next coach. He knows how to get max out of Indian players. He has good cricket knowledge and most importantly he knows how to handle Indian players and is also a good tactician. But he should be given freedom to what he wants to do. The Indians are only lacking in professionalism. Indians have great talent but not utilizing it properly. If not Indian then probably I would go for Kepler Wessels.
