BCCI has all the power, all the responsibility, all the money, et because they reap all the rewards. It was their job to ensure that CAB is completing the task on time. EG is one of the largest stadiums in the world, certainly not possible for a small regional cricket board to oversee without central oversight, at the very very least. its sad, because EG is a historic venue and somehow backwaters like Mohali/Nagpur/Jaipur/Guwahati get matches over Kolkata, the third largest metropolis in the country! Its understandable that Bangalore or Hyderabad gets the amount and caliber of games that they do, but Kolkata deserves more than either of those two cities. So that it can bring more shame to the nation like it did in 1996 WC semis, 1999 test match, 2005 ODI vs SA by booing the team, 2009 ODI by a power failure in a ODI for more than 30 minutes etc? Sorry, CAB has been taking things for granted all these years. For how long can their incompetence be excused? You can't get your house in your order and you are inviting trouble which is exactly what CAB is finding itself in.

If it doesn't, maybe we're just messed up :headshake:

Kolkatta has been the one of the worst ground for the past 15 years. From crowd trouble to booing its own team. I would be happy to see Kolkatta banned and i've been saying this for a long time.

You can't get your house in your order and you are inviting trouble which is exactly what CAB is finding itself in. power failures have happend in the last world cup in WI during the final, IIRC. this is the subcontinent, power failure will happen write it down. and that isn't CAB's fault. blame the Bengal gov sure, but what CAB do about a power failure? likewise blaming CAB for 96 semi-final is not fair. blame the fans, but even then, i'm sure the same thing would have happened if the match was played at the Brabourne or the Kotla. once again, its the subcontinent and people will riot. heck, ppl riot over soccer games in "developed" nations like Poland. don't know what happened in 1999 test match - a refresher would be appreciated. but the crowd should be allowed to boo or cheer for whoever they want. so long as they don't riot or get unruly. Quarterbacks in american football get booed all the time by the home team fans if they are struggling. Its a part of sport.

They didnt even have lights, how can they fail? Also Poland is barely a developed country, all the polish are over here plumbing our toilets.

Both India and Srilanka are under red light which is a horrible news, not to mention both of them had wc planing exposers before. They should have started the work the moment they got the green light to stage the wc. Brown ppl and their always last minute!!!

No. all that money goes towards the stadium construction costs. they made it clear when they sold the tickets.

However, CAB deserves half of the blame as well for shoddy management and lack of efficiency. Everyone is out to fill their pockets. O & for those who believe only Eden should be punished for crowd trouble must have forgotten the shiv sena drama in mumbai, bottle throwing in Nagpur, crowd trouble in Jaipur and various other places as well but once again obvious bias views our out at full force.
