You gults seek out only Andhra food anywhere they go. I heard that there are no Andhra-type restaurants (RRR, Nagarjuna etc) even in Hyd. The red chilli paste is garlic chutney and the dosa is a speciality in Bangalore/Karnataka called the Mysore Masala dosa for the ignorant. If you don't like it, eat idli which they call it dosa elsewhere. I have even eaten Andhra-Style chinese food in Bangalore. Of all cities, Hyd has the worst food for somebody who eats out. I have gone to a lot of cities in India. Bombay is the best and then comes Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi etc.

Me no gult nor Kannadiga (in their true sense)...spent more time in North...and I have been in Bangalore more than Hyd....hand in heart...Bangalore food is no where near Hyd food....I can praise bangalore 100 times more than Hyd in lot of things like entrepreneurship, parks, weather, etc but FOOD...Hell NO...forget Southies...none of the Northies I know who have been to both places even have an iota of doubt as to which city has better food choices and taste :two_thumbs_up: There are no Andhra-type restaurants in Hyd because you get that kind of food in normal mess...In Bangalore, they are a craze...donno why

Because of a lot of people seek spicy food. There is a sizeable people from andhra in Bangalore since a lot of decades, Telugu movies have a big market too.

No offence, but does Andhra have a characteristic cuisine? I don’t ever recall going to a ‘Andhra’ restaurant in my life :hmmm: I thought it is much like the regular South Indian food, but twice the spice. :--D

I'm not a Kannadiga, but I'm a Bangalorean :isalute: That said, other than the biriyani and the mughlai cuisine what has Hyd got? I'm a big headache for my mom, because I just hate all telugu food. I only liked pappannam that she would make muddhas of and feed me :--D Dosa was invented in Udupi and you are saying Bangalore doesn't have good dosas? You must have been eating at one of those sidey places run by those immigrants (:aetsch: to northies) And, I totally don't understand the kaaram funda. Why oh why should everything be so spicy in "Andhra style" restaurants? I know real Andhra food is hardly that spicy. I dunno where the bozos who fake it got the idea from :hitler:

C_R.... 1) I am not very much aware of the absolutely latest food places since I am on and off in Hyd recently (few yrs) and have been more in Bangalore...I can tell you the old favorites... Paradise...aadaab...shadaab....alpha....Garden....Bawarchi,etc for Biryani and stuff though some of these are good for takeaways only ( too much rush and not a good ambience for a leisurely lunch/dinner)...also good are the numerous family dhabas around Banjara Hills For Chinese (if you are interested) then there is Nan-King and some others For real paisa vasool...real dhaba (lorry driver stuff....I have no problems in confessing that I do like the adventure once a while) food, go to medchal or patancheru dhabas, preferably a little late in night (not with family but with friends)... And do have Irani chai :two_thumbs_up: in Blue Sea or the host of Cafes near Balanagar Some of the high-end chains like Ohris have some good Hyd dishes...Bagaare Baingan, etc For South Indian food ( I doubt you would want that...why wuld you), you have many chains/franchises like Sudha,Swagat and some of Kannada chains like Kamat.... Will think of more and post....its 1:30 AM now so gotto sleep.... p.s...Its not just Andhra guys in Bangalore who go to/like food in Nagarjuna/Nandinis....lots of Kannadigas too

No offense again but if you come to Hyd or Bang or Chennai and ask for a Vada Pav or something....ppl will stare at you...Nobody even knows a Gujarati or Rajasthani cuisine elsewhere....I dont think they even exist Andhra cuisine = Gongura pacchadi and stuff...unique even in South but agree that outside South...ppl cant differentiate And also...pls note that Andhra cuisine IS NOT SAME as Hyderabadi cuisine....they are completely different (ok maybe a bit of fusion here and there)

I have been to hyderabad many times and its ridiculous and laughable to suggest that Hyderabad has better food than Bangalore. You are either biased or have no clue .
Well...we can agree that no 2 taste buds are same....I have been in Bangalore and have always yearned for Hyd when food time comes...nothing ridiculous or laughable....and just maybe you are biased or have no clue...chill man :two_thumbs_up:

I like the Mughlai and Punjabi foods. And bengali sweets. And DOSA DOSA DOSA :woot: And, I get FABULOUS Dal Makhani at Rasilaas right next to my house (which seems shut down cuz the southie fools wanted more rasam :hitler:) But, if you been in Bangalore and didnt get to eat at Empire - their oil kababs or Kabab Magic for their shavarma, I pity you foo, I pity u :yousuck:

I have been to south Indian restaurants in Hyd. They absolutely suck when compared to even smaller local ones in Bangalore. Ever been to MTR, Uphara Darshinis, Pallavi, Coffee House on MG ROad, Janata hotes (bunch of them), SI food rocks there. You are comparing Andhra-style restaurants in B'lore with some popular ones in Hyd, obviously you will get better biriyanis, guthivankaya koora in Hyd compared to B'lore. But for any North Indian south Indian restaurants, B'lore is miles ahead. Forget about talking about continental, chinese. First of all, there is no eating out culture in Hyd. I don't know why we are even comparing. I thought you will come up with something that I didn't taste in Hyd. Now I know, I didn't lose out on anything in Hyd.

Nice to see the B’lore and Hyd boys competing for 2nd place. :giggle: We all know who’s the Boss, when it comes to food. :bandit:

All you talk about is FOOD :headshake:...you guyz should spend more server space on the womenz :woot: This is how I rate them (Southies) Kannadigas > Mallus > Chennaities > Gults Mallus have been 'making' some fine womenz, recently. In five years time, they will pip Bang's to top spot :nice: If the Gults don't put their heads down and start working on producing some fine womenz, I expect most of the gult males to take the lead from nikky bava and turn ghey :headshake:
