Dravid Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 i iz pleased to see this :proud: but for how long b4 u-turns?:shot:
Zap_Brannigan Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 didnt they have a video where jadeja confessed and couldnt stop crying I've never heard this before. I only remember him saying that he is innocent every chance he got. IIRC, the courts also cleared him. I doubt a video like that would have proven his innocence in the courts.
Jersey #10 Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 brb ... paying a visit to you know where :D same...it's going to be ROLF'gadon
Jersey #10 Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 i iz pleased to see this :proud: but for how long b4 u-turns?:shot: ICC doesn't make U-turns, PCB does These bans are by ICC so PCB can not make U-turns here. It's going to be a 5 year wait and see:whistle:
saneindian Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 All three deserved a life ban but any punishment for the cheats is welcome.
Jersey #10 Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 ICC really has no balls 5 year ban for asif is a joke... Butt should have been banned for 10 years straight instead of this 5 year suspended bullshrit and what is this appeal against ban ****? that means anyone can re open the case and try to comeback
Ram Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 The judgments came out pretty much as expected, though it is still unclear as to why the tribunal gave different sentences to Amir and Asif. But lets not forget this - If this sentence is upheld by CAS, which in all probability it will, these are essentially life bans on the careers of Butt and Asif. Butt will be 36 by the time the ban expires and Asif 33. Plus, it is very unlikely that somebody who has been out of active cricket for so long can actually even make a comeback even if they want to. The only point of interest in this case is actually Amir. Realistically speaking, he can still have a fruitful career after he serves the ban, but i am pretty sure they will mount a lengthy appeals process.

Any decision by lower courts are eligible for appeals in a higher court.
jibranpatel15 Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 great decesion by ICC panel i back them for that. Salman Butt 10 years Mohammad asif 7 years Mohammad Amir 5 years ban is absolutely justified. :congrats:

The additional 5 or 2 for Butt and Asif is only if they end up getting caught again during the period.
coffee_rules Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Now, let's see what CPS does...I hope they serve atleast 6 months jail time in Ingerland.
Clarke Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 5 yrs ban means they cannot play in 2015 WC .. this is a serious conspiracy against Pak team by the Indian Cricket Council.
Sir_Afridi Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Very biased and harsh punishments by ICC which was pretty much expected so no surprises. Biased ICC lawyers presented the case the biased tribunal set up by ICC and it was supposed to be independent set up. WI player Samuels was banned only for 2 years for match fixing which is more serious than minor offense of spot fixing. Why is it always against Pakistan ICC suddenly becomes so efficient ?? Shame on ICC for destroying the careers of talented players on basis of some shoddy videos on tabloid news paper.

Pakistani players can fix matches, tamper with the ball, indulge in spot fixing, take drugs and do other such despicable activities that bring the game of cricket into disrepute............but if they are punished, its very biased and harsh. Aakhir kab tak aisey cheaters ko defend karte rahoge tum log????

yoda Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 WI player Samuels was banned only for 2 years for match fixing which is more serious than minor offense of spot fixing. How did he fix the match? And how is spot fixing minor? You don't mind your players faking things while you are watching the match thinking it is all real?
Manny_Pacquiao Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 How did he fix the match? he did bro, he did he phixed the match, by sharing information with bookies. he also did spot fixing with indian playerz, tableeghi jamaaat jhuggi-waale paki news service reported it, so it must be true
Sir_Afridi Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 How did he fix the match? http://lmgtfy.com/?q=How+did+Marlon+Samuels+fix+matches

Reminds me of this movie called "Stir Crazy" where Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder are wrongly jailed for bank robbery, their sentences are like 112 years so Ricahrd Pryor is so funked out that he starts calculating his days and says, he's gonna be 146 when he gets out...:hysterical::hysterical:, same with these guys, 5 years with no cricket is sayonara
