Sidhoni Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 I think they will make it to the Semis. They are def. not underdogs coming into this tournament. There is no point in being way too confident because India were minnows going into the '83 world cup as well. yes, they are a gud side and maybe they can go into the quarters, but the semis, no way:nono:
desi pride 1234 Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 naaah. I would stop watching cricket if they beat india second time.
ZodiaC Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Feel they won't beat a single test playing nation . Take out Shakib & maybe tamim and they're not way better than other non test playing nations.
someone Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Feel they won't beat a single test playing nation . Take out Shakib & maybe tamim and they're not way better than other non test playing nations. But that kind of attitude, who worry about other team's when there are dumb fans like you.
Zero_Unit Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 I think you are misusing the word Formidable. Formidable NO, but they are very much capable.
Kriterion Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 After years of cricket they are still a team that depends on upsets. Granted they blanked NZ. But that was just an aberration. Will they upset couple of teams? Possible. Are they formidable? Far from it. BD fans actually expected the India win in 2007. it was something that went from fans to the players themselves. It was evident in how Mortaza cranked up his pace to 88+ mph without sacrificing control, and how the fielders jumped on every ball in the field. the way they played that day, they would have beaten anybody, not just India. The win against South Africa was different, it relied on that rare brilliance from Ash to seal a win. this time however, you will notice that the Indian team is much stronger than it was in 2007. Bangladeshi fans are excited, but not at all certain of winning; most bangladesh fans think India will win the encounter. On Paper, this is a game India would win 9 times out of 10, but the thing with limited overs games is that whoever plays better on the day will win. Thats why I think Bangladesh have a mathematical shot come February 19. As far as the other games go, while England and South Africa would be favored, playing on their home pitches, any Bangladeshi win would not be an upset upset. I think the West Indies games is a 1:1 match to be honest, it may even be that a WI win would be the "upset". That being said, Bangladesh has a tendency to lose to associates, especially associates who believe they can win. And Ireland and Holland both believe they can win. For a BD fan, this world cup is as dramatic as they come...all 6 games could go both ways!

someone Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 how? bowling wise we are the same. batting wise maybe a couple of new unproven players. Check the ranking and we have improved a lot away from home. A lot of experience and youth together. This is the first time we can really think of ourselves as rightfully favorities.
ZodiaC Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 But that kind of attitude' date=' who worry about other team's when there are dumb fans like you.[/quote'] WTF is your problem yo?
vvvslaxman Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 DIfference this team does deliver well under pressure. Teams are aware you are not safe until they get Harbhajan singh out.
kalpurush Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 For a BD fan, this world cup is as dramatic as they come...all 6 games could go both ways! Well, Tigers would reach the q-final with no doubt IMHO And I think India or Sri Lanka will win the WC 2011

Clarke Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 WC final shall be between Bangladesh & Pakistan
Ashraful_Rox Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 WC final shall be between Bangladesh & Pakistan Thank you for showing faith in Bangladesh, but I don't think we will reach the Quarter Finals, our players can neither bat or ball. If Tamim goes early and Shakib falls for below 50 then we will lose the matches against minnows too. I think Final will be between India vs Pakistan.
TheWall Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 BD can spring a surprise by beating 1 or 2 teams... If lucky maybe QF. Thats it.
