Today saw a Ride On here in Gaithersburg, which had poster of Sachin, sehwag etc. Later came to know that Dish Network is using Ride on buses to advertise their world cup package. But man this is kool. I mean watching them on American bus Btw, Maryland's local bus is called -RIDE ON.

There's quite literally, no market for cricket in the US whatsoever, unless of course, you exclude the million strong expat Indian community. How many of them live in the D.C area? Maybe 10,000? 25,000? In that, how many are avid cricket followers? Probably 10%?, which is around 1000-2500 people. In that, how many are likely to actually notice these buses? 10% again? That makes a target audience of around 100-250 people. You cant run an ad campaign based on potential audience of 500 people! Tics, are you sure you really saw our guys on those buses or did the doc botch up the lasik eye surgery that you were inquiring about? :winky:

If I had to guess, I would think there are about 150K+ south asians in DC area.

In that case, having posters of Indian players is actually a turn-off for those guys. :--D And oh btw, the only other time I have actually seen Indians being promoted in the US is when I saw a life-size poster of the Telugu movie star Balayya in one of the NJ transit stations in New Jersey.
