The Outsider Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 I can easily figure out who is calling me if it's a guy - even someone I've spoken to maybe 4-5 times on the phone. Is my ear not trained or has a defect that it might take me talking to a girl 25-30 times before I can recognize their voice? Do guys find it easier to recognize other guys' voices or is it just me? Do girls have the same experience?

Clarke Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Its not hard to recall people by voice .. its the bloody names. There should be some mental algorithm to index all names so that the search results are efficient and accurate.

gaurav92 Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 I am pretty good at this, so no problems.But I have problem in remembering people's names, very often I ll meet a guy who addresses me, and I will talk to him for 5 mins and then politely mumble "Hey I don't quite remember your name, what is it ?" Does it happen to anyone here ?

Works most of the times, accept when I am not able to recognize or guess wrongly even on talking more, when it becomes more embarrassing.

Do girls have the same experience? I'll refine this theory. Its easier to identify who is calling between two brothers than it is between two sisters. I've always noticed that.
