Ram Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Another assumption! I haven't even decided which game(s), I will predict for :giggle: Keep checking to see my prediction(s) :P Today is feb 11th. The India-England match is still 16 days away. So you’re telling you us cannot finish the ‘calculations’ before that? :hysterical: I see what you’re doing here. You’re going to do your ‘calculations’ for the Ind-Eng match, and because you pretty much have no idea what you're going to come up with, you want to wait and see how it turns out and depending on that, you choose to ‘publish’ the other 'results' or not. Lulz!

Ram Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 ah ha' date=' the kid is spamming as usual![/quote'] I am sorry dude, but for you to pull out a couple of stats and then have the cheek to say ‘Well, using this, it shouldn’t hard to for me to predict the score, right?’ is un-effin-believable! :hysterical: For you to list those stats and then follow up with that line, just shows you how understand NOTHING, not-a-thing, about the ‘challenge’ you posted.

There is always a simplified way to do things :--D Appears as if your dream of me spending hours on this didn't materialize, feel sorry for you! :hehe: I really don't care about what folks like you think, I predicted because I said that here and not because I said it to you! :winky: .... The more you try to take me down, the more I realize how hurt you are from the inside. Too bad but I can't help you on that as that's rett's effect taking a toll on you .... and I had warned you abt it a long time ago :P

First of all, you havent even said anything yet, just listed some numbers. Secondly, i know of primary school students who could have done a better job than that..! :hysterical::hysterical: Rest is just irrelevant garbage, as usual.

Oh, the prediction is coming shortly, thanks for reminding! :--D You are still not getting the point: the point is not whether others can do the job better but that I am coming out with a prediction by working with numbers, which I claimed is not my strong point. (which might not be true though :winky: ) Instead of spamming, why not try your hand at this too? But ofc, you don't have it you to do that :hysterical:

zen Posted February 12, 2011 Author Posted February 12, 2011 Guys, here comes the prediction! Ind vs Eng @ B'lore If Ind bats first: 295 If Eng bats first: 277 For how did I arrive at the number, see below: 1. Games considered for Ind: last 2 D/N games at B'lore. Ind is used to these conditions so it's performance in last 3 years, i.e. 2 games gets the weightage 2. Games considered for Eng: last 5 D/N games in Ind. For Eng, the data sample size is small so it is better to take its performance in last 5 D/N games in Ind. Ind: Ind's batting avg (6.87*50*2)+Eng's bowling avg(5.53*50*5) divided by 7 = approx. 295 Eng: Eng's batting avg (5.02*50*5)+Ind's bowling avg (6.84*50*2) divided by 7 = approx. 277 Probable result: Ind wins :two_thumbs_up: Note: The data is available for everyone to use, but the interesting thing is how you use it. Thanks!
The Outsider Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 1. Games considered for Ind: last 2 D/N games at B'lore. England's data sample is small, so you are taking their last 5 D/N games in India, and you consider India's data sample of 2 D/N ODIs to be sufficient? :WTF:
coffee_rules Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Instead of last 5 D/N games in India, you should also consider the batting average in the last 5 ODIs..form is what drives the scores in the next match most of the times
zen Posted February 12, 2011 Author Posted February 12, 2011 England's data sample is small' date=' so you are taking their last 5 D/N games in India, and you consider India's data sample of 2 D/N ODIs to be sufficient? :WTF:[/quote'] Remember, for Ind I took their performances at B'lore only. There wasn't much point in looking for data that's more than 3 years old, which is why I took the 2 D/N games it played at B'lore in the last 3 years. That also would take the recent pitch situation and PP for 20 overs into account. For Eng, I had to take their performances in Ind because I don't think they would have played much at B'lore in the last few overs (to lazy to check). What would you have done with the same data?
zen Posted February 12, 2011 Author Posted February 12, 2011 Instead of last 5 D/N games in India' date=' you should also consider the batting average in the last 5 ODIs..form is what drives the scores in the next match most of the times[/quote'] Yep, that could have been done too. There are so many ways you can do this.
The Outsider Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 What would you have done with the same data? Opened a bottle of coke or beer, depending on the time of the day and mood on the England-India game and watched the match.

Jersey #10 Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Yo rett, buy yourself out of this dude. This thread is going to be an epic ownage for you. Even if you spend hours, days or even weeks collecting the data, you are only going to get harassed at a higher level.
