Was Sri Lanka the best bowling attack in 96? Was India the best bowling attack in 83 Like any other day, it's a one-off and good bowling and batting can win u the game on that day..having a super express fast bowlers doesn't guarantee anything

India may not be the best bowling attack in all conditions but they are pretty good for Indian conditions and that's where the cup is being played. If India improves its fielding (at least catching) and batting lives up to its potential, they should be fine.

Praveen kumar in 15 squad AFTER recovery?? Dear forum members, Since Praveen Kumar is still in 30-member squad, if he recovers well, can he be included in 15-squad (and therefore in playing 11)? Crickinfo India squad lists him as "withdrawn player". Does it means that he is NOT in top-15 at present or does spell "the end" for him for 2011 World Cup? Thanks!

He can't come back in team now, as he was replaced after team was declared.

and it still is even the spinners are bowling really poorly a great cause of concern when a team finds it so hard to defend 338

The best chance for India is to put the other team in, let the bowlers do their usual rubbish and try to chase down the total. That's the only way I see India winning against Australia, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. If they bat first, hope for a miracle.

Have to go with: Zak Munaf Nehra/Ashwin Bhajji Chawla. Drop Yusuf and bring in either one of Nehra or Ashwin.
Nehra must play. He has decent yorkers. Ashwin in place of Chawla.

How much are we missing Sehwag's bowling? With the shoulder niggle that he is carrying (and a minor injury to the ribs now), it seems unlikely if he will be able to bowl in this WC... He was one part timer who could genuinely spin the ball even on flat tracks... How much of an impact is this?

None at all ! No offence, but Sehwag is one of the most lazy, indisciplined and selfish players I have ever seen. Look how he keeps running out other batsmen, for instance. I wish he could be dropped... we have plenty of talented batsmen ! I think he has played his big innings of the WC already against B'Desh. That was it. He's cemented his place... now he can relax:rolleyes:

I am sure you do :haha: In fact all of India's opponents would be wishing that happens  As I mentioned earlier in another thread, you need to stop talking through ur ass... I don't see any team which wouldn't have Sehwag, let alone drop him from the team. He's one guy who can win you a match within 15 overs. If Sehwag bats the first 15-20 overs the way he does I don't see India losing too many games. And pray tell me who are the other "talented openers" you are talking about? And as for Sehwag being selfish, I don't even know where you are coming from. Sehwag can be termed many things but never selfish. He's the guy who got out on 195 in Aus while going for a 6 even though there were fielders posted on the boundary. He's the chap who got to 300 with a 6. He's the guy who has a strike rate of 80+ in Tests and that too as an opener!!! He's the player who has scored 7000+ runs in odis with a strike rate of more than 103!!! So far his stats speak for themselves and I don't see anything which suggests Sehwag is "selfish". Pls back your statements with facts else you risk being taken as a wum :finger:
