Clarke Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Where's Ajmal, he should be playing ahead of Rehman i'd guess.
Sachin=GOD Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 I must say suddenly that this Pakistan team is looking quite dangerous. The batting is looking strong while in bowling, the spinners, particularly Afridi have done well till now. I hope they don't win it though :--D
straight.drive Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 The advantage pakistani team is that of pretty low expectations. In absence of pressure, they are performing well. Today the toss of coin helped them. If there were some due and lesser spin, surely their attack would have struggled. On a related note, toss would have great influence on the outcome of the matches in this WC.
hari504504 Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 after all these controversies..top players got banned..but they could still push for the WC !!..amazing team this Pakistan ! !
zen Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Another way to look at it is that despite getting 270 odd, bowling under lights @ Premdasa and the snail paced inning by Chamara, Pak looked beatable :P
nballa Posted February 26, 2011 Author Posted February 26, 2011 who changed the title? for those of you who are interested the original title was 'i must say pakistan is looking dangerous'
Shakthi Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Let Pakistan Bat 2nd then we will know how brave this pakistan team is.
nballa Posted February 26, 2011 Author Posted February 26, 2011 Let Pakistan Bat 2nd then we will know how brave this pakistan team is. really. what are you going to say after they bat 2nd and win? 'let pakistan bat 1st then we will know how brave this pakistan team is.'
Shakthi Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 really. what are you going to say after they bat 2nd and win? 'let pakistan bat 1st then we will know how brave this pakistan team is.' abey 95% of teams batted first won the game under the lights at this ground and if it it was pakistan batted 2nd they wud have lost win the toss win the match in lanka.
The Outsider Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 My point is they look good because of the toss. But they are far from dangerous. You're missing the point. If Pakistan were a poor team they would have lost despite batting first at Premadasa. That they won and delivered a par result for Premadasa - where amongst equally matched teams the team batting first wins - goes to show that they are not in a different level of competition like WI, BD, and NZ. These three teams would have lost even if they batted first, like NZ lost to India at Premadasa.

Tapioca Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 If we play them in the QF or SF and lose, it will be great fun to read the posts on this board !

DomainK Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 They are actually looking good. They are playing as a team and it seems there is less friction within the players. The batting is good, bowling is effective, fielding is pathetic. They need to get rid of Akmal if they want to do well in the rest of the tournament.
Silva Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Hate to piss on the parade but batting 2nd on this pitch under light is damn near impossible and pakistan still almost lost defending a decent total against a weak batting line up.

As far as i know only India has highest run chase in Sl under the lights.

zen Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 The usual trend at ICF continues ----> one good/bad performance = teams/players getting hyped up/written off :P
