I'm also glad that we're taking limited overs cricket seriously. We embarrassed ourselves in the last 4 World Cups. We have the habit of making changes right before a WC. I thought that it would be different this time but sadly it isn't. Still hopeful of a semi-final place. I'm very confident with the test side. A very settled team and some fine young players coming through as well like Taylor. Really looking forward to the summer. You won T20 WC. It is a big step. England choked in 1992 WC final. Otherwise they would have atleast 1 WC. The main problem with English ODI side was lack of power hitters and this is why they were left behind in 1990s and 2000s. Pietersen and Morgan has solved that problem to a great extent.

The guy has scored 1 fifty in the last 2 and half years! yeah but he's coming back in form just at the right time. In fact most of the English batsmen look in fluent touch. The problem is the fielding and to some extent the bowling. Against Netherlands the fielding was absolutely terrible and if they don't improve then this English team can say the World Cup goodbye right now itself :giggle:

Well i do not Think dew would be much into the Play during this time of the Year than what it would have been Before. Wicket to have good Carry (Banglaore wicket generally does have better carry than Most of the Venues unless except Mohali). Should be a Good Batting Track.

King Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 I need to take off my blinkers and acknowledge Afridi as a match winner at times. These days he's very consistent with the ball. Good for Pakistan. Perhaps his history doesn't allow me to acknowledge his exploits. Still if his team needs to progress they really need a better keeper and fielding needs to improve immensely. The fielding in a do or die game if it goes like the way it did against Sri Lanka, Pakistan will rue their chances.

It's more so because the batting conditions are ridiculously bad compared to the first innings. It's a sham that SL managed to close in with a gap of 11 runs only. It should have been quite a huge win considering Pakistan won the toss at this ground in an D/N match. I still don't rank Pakistan as a strong contender for the WC.
