Didn't they already know before the tournament ? Our biggest hurdle is semi-final. If we win semi-final we will win WC .

Yes, we can. But we need spin-friendly wickets. Remember, our bowlers won us the warmup against the Aussies. Though it was a warmup, both teams took it seriously. But as long as we have flat wickets, Bhajji, Chawla and co are going to be toothless. And considering our poor catching/fielding, we will leak like crazy. So give us spinning wickets and see the fun.

To be honest, I just think that it was one of those days but there are two things I don't get: 1) Why aren't you chaps preparing wickets that spin? I expected wickets to turn a fair bit since it is India's strength. All the talk in England was about how our batsmen were going to play on those wickets but it appeared to be like one of those wickets we've had at Lord's over the past few years. 2) Why play so many batsmen when you've got the Tendulkar (who hits hundreds for fun once set) and Sehwag followed by a solid middle order? I guess the 7th batsmen might be useful when chasing down big totals but it appears like you could do with one less batsman. Would it then put more pressure on the top order and make them play with less freedom? Not sure.

Love it every time the question pops up. It's asked before and during every tournament, every series in every format without fail. But we have won most things recently. When people doubted if we could take 20 wickets in a test match, we not only kept on winning, but became no1. I am sure we will win this WC as well.

There was a lot of rain leading up to the match in Bangalore and some people thought the game will be washed out or curtailed. There was no time for the curator to prepare the wicket. I'm no pitch expert but I think he left a lot of grass to keep the pitch together and shaved it off on the morning. If we had a drier pitch, it would have taken a lot more spin. Something like the warm up game against Australia. Yes, I feel India is playing one batsman too many but then again, that's the strategy they have adopted for a long while and its something that has worked for them. Personally I think they can afford one extra bowler in place of a batsman but I doubt they are going to change their tried and tested 7+4 combination.
