zen Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 After the wacking the Irish gave to the English and the pitch probably getting easier for batting at B'lore, I feel we did well to not let Eng win at B'lore .... Awesome performance by Zak, esp. to get the reverse going in the 2nd half Zak and Reverse Swing The Irish definately lifted the spirit of our team, esp the bowlers

They played great cricket. But the important thing to note here is India will be playing Ireland at the same ground in a few days. I get the feeling India is not as safe against Ireland as I thought before.

Do you really think any other team would have coneded less runs on this surface. Not long ago India made close to 350 against Australia on a similar pitch, 414 against SL on a similar pitch, several 300 plus against Pakistan on similar pitches.

kabira Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 actually England batted poorly in last 6 overs..but then they thought 320 is more than enough. LOL.. One freak innings changed the games. I see India chasing against Ireland, if we win the toss. or may be Kumble will come out with spinning track. Today's track was much better than sunday track. When we started batting it was not coming on the pitch. I guess due to moisture and lot of rain. This one was belter from ball 1. it hardly chagned.

Even Dhoni mentioned in his post-match comments that the track got better as the match went on. If India get to bat on the track now I will back them to post around 400.

The fact that we have played 90% of our matches in subcontinent in the last 2 years.

There is no way these 4 teams can't defend 340 on pancake pitches. They have genuine wicket takers, not 120kph trundlers.
