ganeshran Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Nehra for Yusuf is the only change I'd like to see. On subcontinent pitches Nehra will get tonked around like anything. :((
CG Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Its not about quantity..Quality matters whether play 4 or 5 bowlers which we don't have. On Flat pitches quality or no quality you will be hammered,Many bowlers like steyn ,morkel, lee have been hammered in odis in india,Fact is playing 5 bowler is better as chances of a battting allrounder winning match at 7 is less than a bowling allrounder doing something with the ball.
vvvslaxman Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 I would like to see the following two changes to the team. This might be a good match to try this: 1. Ashwin for Chawla - Chawla has looked very ordinary for the most part 2. Nehra for YKP - YKP isn't getting any chance to bat and whether we like it or not Nehra is a specialist bowler Chawla will be devoured by both Obriens. short boundaries. slow pitch. Chawla with no pace will be taken to cleaners.
Switchblade Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Gavaskar was saying that Harbhajan should be rested against the irish and the dutch teams and both Ashwin and Chawla should be given a chance to see who,s the better of the two and then select one of them against saffers and windies
Jersey #10 Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 What are you smoking pink haired monster? Our best bowler is Munaf Patel atm :wall:
asterix Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Gavaskar was saying that Harbhajan should be rested against the irish and the dutch teams and both Ashwin and Chawla should be given a chance to see who' date='s the better of the two and then select one of them against saffers and windies[/quote'] Harbhajan can't take that risk of vacating his place..I'll be plesantly surprised if he does that. However, it's very important to win all the matches with the best possible team because WI and SA are looking good..
nballa Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 he is trying to soften up the bowlers and launch a full out assault. pay no attention to him. everyone knows how much depth we have.
singhprakash72 Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 With a BELTER of wicket I guess no difference between Nehra/Sree/Ashwin/Piyush...Just pick one that is better Fielder+Batter I guess ???
yoda Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Chawla will be devoured by both Obriens. short boundaries. slow pitch. Chawla with no pace will be taken to cleaners. I agree. We better get K OB out before Piyush comes in with his laddus. LOL!
achilles Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Kevin is just being modest. We have so much depth in our bowling that we let a team like England touch 338 against us :hysterical:
flamy Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Munaf Patel, Piyush Chawla and R Ashwin are also there sums it up
Zero_Unit Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Well i hope IRE atleast puts up a decent score or else the game is no fun to watch.
ganeshran Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Harsha said they watered the Bangalore pitch and left the water there. :ohyeah:
ghost Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Harsha said they watered the Bangalore pitch and left the water there. :ohyeah: Yes, I heard that too. Good, I think, for India:two_thumbs_up: I REALLY hope they give Ashwin a chance to prove himself !
Manny_Pacquiao Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 gonna be a huge anti-climax for the irish i am guessing 200 all out, with india chasing in 32 overs
Ultimate_Game Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 I would prefer India chases as well - they need to chase couple of times in the group stage to get used to chasing under the lights. In fact they should try chasing in all their remaining matches except the SA one.
nballa Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 please don't dhobi. chasing was never your strength.
