Afridi wickets: LBW and Bowled all. Come up with a leggie's action from a short run and throw with full might at the stumps.

This has been the pattern. He is just darting it straight on the stumps at ( 125-130 ish) and most of the batsmen are late on it, thinking this guy is a leggie and either get bowled or LBW beaten by the pace of his chucks.

I think he has sort of a discovered a new bowl (not like its the first time he bowled) but if he keeps up with this performance in the WC then many will follow the new short spinner run-up with leggie skidding fast delivery.

He is darting in the bowl quite fast and also has the googly to turn a bit. Batsman need good hand eye coordination and go to the back foot and play the ball. Since Afridi doesnt turn the ball much, its easy to play him for quality batsman, but yes he can pretty much clean the tail of any decent side and has been in tremendous form in the world cup

He is an impulsive guy. Moment you hit him for 4 you can be dead cert next ball will be fast chucking. Did you see how he instantly thoughtlessly asks for reviews. It is an impulse.. typical example of "short cut" pakistani. This is how his thought process is.. okay... this guy hit me for 4.. i have to throw as fast as possible next ball.. well he has hit this.. next ball.. we should bite the ball and make something happen..

He varies his pace and leg breaks, off breaks, googlies, and fast ones so well that batsmen always keep guessing as what to come and he does not have much change in his action as well...its not easy to play premeditated shots on him and as well batsman always is on toes...this is the same way likes of Sydney Barnes used to bowl if I am right and if not please correct me and BS Chandrasekhar as well had the same style of bowling....fast spinners, straighter ones, and vary them with other deliveries...

the ball got wicket and thats all that counts As a bowler Afridi has always been effective in ODI ; 13 wickets in 3 games irrespective of opposition is impressive.

I agree. Batsman have to go after him and break the confidence. Afridi is a very impulsive player and loses it very easily. On the other hand successes feed him and inspire him to put up better performances.

Afridi doesn't belong to that category.

as a spinner getting 4 wickets against SL is pretty good..our spinners likes of Anil Kumble and Bhajji have struggled a lot against SL in ODIs especially

HAHAHAHA....You got it right ther in your post and you are mocking me dumbo? I was referring to his delivery action/style (short run-up, bowl fast). Like delivering action, shupar phast action, not ball-ing. Next time just give it a little thought Khotay mian before trying to look smart/stupid? :--D
