Shoaib at his peak was absolute carnage for the batsmen. In late 90s and early mid 2000 he was the best site of a fast bowler this game has ever produced. Long pumping run-up, lethal pace, rage, aggression, you name it and he had it. He as a Test bowler was light years ahead of Brett Lee, and in ODIs Lee has been more successful and effective. They both are very determined and hard working. Akthar though has been lazy and gaining weight but old guy still got the speed going for him.

Agree with the bold but I wouldn't say that he was the best but one of the bests.

Overall,, Tests - Shoaib ODIs - Lee Generally you could say Shoaib was probably more 'talented' and could bowl more wicket taking deliveries, but Lee has better fitness, can bowl longer spells, can sustain pace for a longer period, and is less prima-donna and more of a team-man.

Brett Lee. He was someone who never paled away after bowling 3-4 quick overs. We never saw him panting around after a few overs though his speeds have always been at par with Shoaib. Shoaib has been carnage but only on a very few occasions but Lee has been more consistent. 300 test wickets would confirm that. And you can never question that man's attitude for the team.

Shoaib Akhtar because of consistency with pace and stats' date=' Shoaib's both odi and test stats are way better than Lee. Lee is overrated.[/quote'] No they are not. Brett Lee has better average, strike rate, number of wickets than Shoaib Shoaib looks more exciting when he comes to bowl, but Lee is far more disciplined and consistent.
