This is the very reason why BD can't surge ahead. The players as well as its supporters get satisfied with meagre wins. There are many teams that have won in this world cup but that hasn't been hyped as much as this. Sure England were the favorites here but Bangladesh has just beaten one test playing nation and already it's being touted as the best thing to happen for Bangladesh. Bangladesh also won against Pakistan in the 199 WC, against India/SA in the 2007 world cup and rejoiced similarly. End results, the players/supporters were way too satisfied with just one result. If you look back at the way SL went about winning the world cup in 1996 although not many gave them a chance, there was a quiet confidence but no overjoy. They were hungry for more. If this was the state of Bangladesh dressing room after beating England, then Bangladesh will not go too far in this world cup for sure.

Yup it almost feels like Bangladesh has surpassed all their expectations. They could do good to emulate the 3 time world cup champions Aussies, look at the way they go about their business and do the impossible such as winning the 3 world cups in a row. Top teams barely speak about their achievements, they just get on like nothing happened and move on to their next target. There's plenty of lessons for Bangladesh to learn as a team.

Hmm, I don't see any harm in celebrating an improbable win ! It's nice ! Of course, this doesn't mean they should be satisfied with it.

They were down and out. 60 runs with only 2 players left. I mean what's harm in celebrating. Especially, this being a world cup, winning a game like that in this tournament is special. Don't buy the thing that they won't long way or anything. And let's not not mix Sri lanka and Bangladesh. Sri Lanka weren't minnows in 1996. They were a decent ODI team who didn't have good, but great players in De Silva and Ranatunga. Bangaldesh don't have those players.
