HowardRoark Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Chawla's confidence is becoming legendary :hysterical:
Ultimate_Game Posted March 17, 2011 Author Posted March 17, 2011 "Even" Bishoo? Bishoo could be the next Shane Warne for all we know. He very well can but the point I was making is that Bishoo came in straight away and performed pretty well whereas Chawla has got 3 games to "build his confidence" along with 2 practice games but still hasn't managed to come close to bowling a decent spell.
Karan114 Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Even Tredwell has managed a couple of wickets in two overs including Gayle :cantstop:
zubinpepsi Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 everycountry spinners r getting some wickets except ours...
Ultimate_Game Posted March 17, 2011 Author Posted March 17, 2011 looking at the pitch India should play Zaheer and all the spinners. No point playing a lousy pacer when a spinner can do much more. In fact we should go with Raina as a specialist spinner on this pitch!
OriginalCopy Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Ashwin IN and Chawla OUT ... I'm confident that Chawla confidently thought that he could build his confidence by taking Dhoni into confidence and confidently dishing one half tracker after another ... eventually ending up giving confidence to even the minnow-est of batsmen!
Zelig Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 When Devendra Bishoo stepped onto the field for Thursday’s match against England it was the realisation of a dream for the young leg-spinner. It was Bishoo’s first international match in West Indies colours and he also fulfilled the dream of his father. Bishoo’s father Mohanlal, died 17 years ago and his one dying wish was that his son would one day represent the West Indies. “I got the news on Wednesday night that I would be playing in the match against England and I immediately thought about my father and what he wanted for me. I always wanted to represent the West Indies and I achieved my goal. But it was more than that. It was what my father wished for,†Bishoo said. “After he died it was just myself and my mother and she also encouraged me to achieve my goals. I know she is very happy and if my father was here I know he would be very happy too. I remembered the times when I used to get home from school and I would spend a lot of time bowling at my father. He realised that I could be a good bowler and he would give me the chance to bowl and learn as much as I could. He was a great help to me and I am happy I have made him proud, even though he is not here to see me.†Bishoo fulfils dad’s dying wish :isalute:
Serani Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Guyanese always tough cricketers, not easy living in guyana.
Raghav_12 Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Bishoo is definitely far more entertaining that Chawla for sure.. Watch Bishoo's interview with Nasser Hussain after hi debut match.. ROFL.. PS - Would have loved to post the link but 'coz of ICF rules, can't :-(
urbestfriend Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 And I must say Bishoo has out-bowled all other spinners in this match. :hatsoff: getting turn and bounce with immaculate length, a good spinner in the making.
cowboysfan Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 lets not carried away,we were bucknored by harper in this match,a vindictive aussie on a warpath.
urbestfriend Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 ^ We have lost the right to whine about umpires, thanks to BCCI.
Zero_Unit Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 So far we have seen other leggies like Tahir and Afridi outbowl Chawla and today even a WI debutant was much much better than Chawla. Maybe Dhoni should have a chat with Sammy regarding how Sammy gave Bishoo enough "confidence". What do you guys reckon? Will this performance have an affect on India's combination against windies with Chawla getting another game as Bishoo comfortably outbowled Benn and Dhoni might think that leg spinner is the way to go :(( Bishoo is going to end up being one of the best leggies around when he retires. He also has the age to back himself up.
Number Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 confidence that these young indian spinners show is not a good sign , you hit them for a 6 and then they will keep sulking like an LKG kid ,
Stuge Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 rofl bischoo is 100% better than half tracker chawala
Yoda-esque Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Its unfair to say that "even" Bishoo is better than PC. Of course hes better! Good temperament for a leggie, hits the right spots..Once he masters the art of getting a bit more side spin and the googly..he will be very very good. I think this WI team has some fine players..
