ravishingravi Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Take a bow :hatsoff:. I have never seen him bowl better in any serious form of the game ( not 20-20 ). Seems to be in great rhythm, bowling at pace swinging the ball both ways with control. Best bowler from his team by far. You got to say though that Australians were piss poor.
saneindian Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Don't think he has ever bowled so fast so consistently. Add to it the amazing control.
Hell Raiser Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 I am really a fan of his bowling. He bowled so well today and the delivery with which he got Watson was brilliant. Most of his deliveries are over 140 k's in this world cup. And I think he is the only Paki bowler that hasn't been into any controversy yet.
zen Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Umar Gul is a top bowler. One of the reasons why Pak pulls off games!
Ramzz Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 A quick bowler who bowls with accuracy, hmm...and our coaches ask our bowlers to slow it down for accuracy!
Pak_Fan_4_Eva Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 It's obvious in his body language. You know he'll bowl good today just by observing his run up Good fast bowling by Gul and some intelligent one by the Razzler. I'm impressed by the overall fielding effort from Pakistan:two_thumbs_up:
pinkfreud Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Umar Gul has more often than not been Pakistan's saving grace. If he continues to be in such splendid touch throughout his career, I'm sure he'll be up there with Wasim Akram as Pak's best bowler.. who knows, he may even surpass him. But that's a big IF.
desi pride 1234 Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 He is fantastic to watch' date=' bowling at 143kph to 150kph and swinging both ways with tow crushing yorkers.....:two_thumbs_up:[/quote'] yo got amir's avatar?

Gul has been the best bowler in shorter format for over 3 years now , nothing new & always has been a mediocre bowler in tests. you need more skill than just the ability to bowl yorkers to be successful in tests . surpass Wasim ? :haha:

Umar has all the talent to succeed at test level.Up to now has under achieved but still has decent test record for a batting friendly era.Had some fantastic spells in test cricket.
Utalk Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Before criticizing him in the tests' date=' check his test record and compare with[b'] your very best bowlers.:hysterical: Mate Indian bowlers are no bench mark for us.Umar should be averaging sub 30.
ravishingravi Posted March 19, 2011 Author Posted March 19, 2011 Before criticizing him in the tests' date=' check his test record and compare with your very best bowlers.:hysterical:[/quote'] Give me stat of how many tests he has played in Pakistan and at what avg. TY.
Karan114 Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Mate Indian bowlers are no bench mark for us.Umar should be averaging sub 30. I'm sure the Indian bowlers are no benchmark for your brilliant little team, but in Test cricket, where you need good bowlers to succeed, India is no.1 and Pakistan no.6 so I wouldn't get too cocky.

Take Rohit sharma and robin uthappa for example if they were Pakistanis they would be first picks in the test and ODIs.But for you guys they can't get close.
