md_tariq Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Stop comparing averages from Previous years regarding Gul and Afridi.Gul is reaching his career peak and Afridi is currently at his bowling peak. + the fact that they normally play India on a pitch which is not prepared to give help to bowlers. Pakistan - 270 India - All out for 230 - Gul rips through Yep when it comes to Zaheer Khan, whole career average is important but not for Gul and Afridi.:hysterical:
Cricket Tragic Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 http://www.mid-day.com/sports/2011/mar/270311-Zaheer-Khan-Mohali-Pitch-Seamers1.htm i would seriously consider playing 3 seamers if this report is accurate.
Cricket Tragic Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 That would mean they will go with Sree' date=' Nehra, Zak. But i very much doubt assistance will last the whole match.[/quote'] Sree hasn't played since the first match and Nehra will also be undercooked since he hasn't played a lot since his injury.
md_tariq Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 I have been saying that all along. then ashwin have to be left out. I am not sure if team management would be ready to take that decision. Thats the problem if the match is against Pakistan, India cannot prepare dry and turning track which would suit afridi, ajmal and hafeez. If it was against any non-subcontinental team, dalgit singh would not have watered the pitch.
vvvslaxman Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Sree hasn't played since the first match and Nehra will also be undercooked since he hasn't played a lot since his injury. Ya.. i prefer India going in with th best side. If we have conditions like SA we could go with Nehra. On Indian pitches there is no concept like green tops. What you might is see bunch of dead grass. Also regardless of the country world cup semis, finals are played on true pitches where batting is a bit easier. They don't want 120 all out scenarios.
ShahidAfridi Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Yep when it comes to Zaheer Khan' date=' whole career average is important but not for Gul and Afridi.:hysterical:[/quote'] No, People are only using the averages of Gul and Afridi vs India. The last time they played a proper series was in 2007 and Afridi and Gul were not good bowlers back then, Afridi and Gul are both peaking as bowlers. Compare whole career averages. Don't compare Afridi's as he used to be a part time bowler but he has only become a bowler in the last couple of years.

But you need to play our best XI.

It was pathetic. :hysterical: Edit: Bowling average of 45 last year. :hysterical:

In 2009 against India he went for 55 runs in 6 overs. You guys don't really analyze cricket do you? Yuvraj, Dhoni, Viru, Sachin, Gambhir, Raina have all played very well against all these bowlers time and again. Yet i don't understand how Gul would suddenly be a different bowler.. Is he the fastest of the tournament? No Is he the cunningest bowler India would face in recent times? No Is he having any secret weapon that India is not aware of ? No He is the same old bowler who kept getting thrashed by Gambhir any time we meet.
Midfielder Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 I think Ashwin shoukd be left out. Harbhajan plays on this pitch and has slight advantage. SSanth should come in his place. Pakistan cannot play pace.
Midfielder Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 That is 15% body fat. I would be ashamed of it. No wonder fat boy could not bowl against NZ and lost his spot.
Prakat Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Why don't you just whip it out and lay it on the table while you're at it. :hysterical:
sandeep Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 can the poonjabis on the board chime in with some info on the dew factor @ mohali this time of year?
randomperson Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 India are going to crush Pakistan! Hi. I dont even know why the Pakis think they stand a chance! We are going to crush them with Tendulkar, Yuvraj, Zaheer, etc. They're bowling line up stands no chance against our batting. Give your opinions guys! Chak de India!
