achilles Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Well, Dhoni needs a big inng and then Athers will maybe have no option but to applaud the genius of the man, like he seems to have changed his opinion about Sachin. Dhoni's batting is a worry for all of us. Linking it to ads just seems to highlight the sheer frustration that Athers seems to have with Dhoni's innings of late. Among numerous opinionated articles in the past, he had taken a swipe at the BCCI (during the Border-Gavaskar in 08 in India, if memory serves me right) for giving the commentators guidelines, one among which was not critiquing the Indian players on air.

Sunny can also be very nasty at times but do the Aussies take offence to it? No. They just go out there and try to work harder to win the game. I'm sure Dhoni will use this criticism as a motivation factor and I hope he comes big in Mohali.

Its worse than the thinking of a 6 yr old kid. But then again, there is a reason we call him a kid and he does grow up. We can all have our takes on a lot of things, like we do about religion. I would choose to ignore Athers comments. The said reply had nothing to do with me but I feel particularly surprised that a person who people look up to here is going all bazooka on people here.

No matter how absurd or desperate his comparison may be, it is still his take/point of view on the subject, regardless of what you and I think about it. "Gradually, India`s challenge is looking more and more serious". Even this supposedly positive quote is patronizing - wtf is that supposed to mean? If one of the top 2 ODI nations, with a consistently high winning percentage, is not a serious contender for WC from the get-go, playing AT HOME, then who is? Shitengland?

I think KP and Athers really need to grow up. My word of advice to KP, England and anyone complaning about schedule would be- "Don't make excuses. If I would've been in your place, I would not complain. I would rather consider myself fortunate to get a chance to wear the jersey on my chest and play with the pride of having the Indian cap on my head and the dreams of a million in my heart".
