I'm not sure why PK isnt considered for the 3rd seamer.sure he isnt pacy, but in conditions like England,he can be lethal swinging it both ways.can bat decently too. other option we have is Yadav.raw, but pacy hope he goes well n maintains his pace

Kohli is a definite shoe-in to the test squad. and Zaheer concentrating on tests will be a good move. Not so sure about Sehwag retiring from ODIs though, at least not for a few more years.

I can imagine but afraid to take name :winky:. 90% of his posts in last one or two months have been about one particular guy only..:cantstop:
There is no one else about whom I should post. I post mostly about newcomers and especially upcoming pacers and for posts about others, there are so many ICFers busy in doing this.

Problem is ball stops swinging after a few overs and then he becomes useless...I must give you an example of how bad he is after 10-15 overs...it was Ranji final between Delhi and UP...he took 3-4 early wickets with the new ball when it swung and then he became so ineffective that despite him being taken 8 wickets in that innings UP lost coz after shine gone they plundered him for lots of runs and as the second new ball taken after 80 overs he then again took wickets but that was too late....he is just good for 20-25 overs of a 90 over test day...in first 15 overs and then last 10 overs and that is only if ball swings...

Raina will take the No.6 spot since Pujara has failed miserably. Kohli will have to wait. Dravid should retire in style, by end of this series. It will be the swansong series for the dart thrower. If he fails again, he will be lost in oblivion. Ohja should be the backup spinner Zaheer Sreesanth and Praveen Kumar to be 3 main pacers.

1. Openers: Sehwag is most likely to be out of the team for a long duration (at least 4-5 months) as he needs a surgery on his shoulder. This would mean him missing the two tours of WI and England. Hopefully Vijay can step up and put up a good show in Viru's absence along with Gauti. The reserve opener's spot should go to Rahane. Number 3,4,5 no change expected. No 6- Pujara definitely deserves another go during the WI tour. Kohli though would not to be too far away from that spot and should be the other reserve batsman in the team. Keeper- No change needed No 8- Bhajji No 9- Zak No 10- Sree No 11- The contenders would be Ojha (especially in WI), Mithun, Umesh Yadav (He was the reserve pacer on the SA tour and should not be discarded without an opportunity) The likely 15 - Gauti, Vijay, Dravid, Sachin, VVS, Pujara, MSD, Bhajji, Zaheer, Sreesanth, Ojha, Rahane, Kohli, Umesh Yadav, Mithun However if Yuvi does go onto win us the WC, it will be impossible to ignore him for the test team. He would most likely make the cut ahead of Rahane or maybe we will pick a 16-17 member squad.

Praveen Kumar would rule all in English conditions.

Wait and watch for the WC to end. On a serious note, before the WC he went to Germany for some rehab on his injured shoulder and an immediate surgery was recommended. But Viru decided to play the WC through the pain and has been taking injections before the games. The surgery is due after the WC/IPL depending on Viru's decision, but for sure he will be out for 4-5 months after the surgery.

What can I say? I already have given quite a few suggestions regarding to him in many a threads. other than that its about practicing hard in the nets and bowling with some purpose there' date=' not just putting it here and there and feeling good about your bowling. He is lacking in confidence right now. He needs to watch his old bowling videos of Aus 2008 tour and Aus tour to India in 2008 and needs to assess what he did right then and he is not able to repeat that now.....He has done it before..I see no reason why cant he do well again..he is still very young..Its all about grit and determination rather than anything else.[/quote'] rkt, actually I meant may be you'll have some suggestions for new names who should be tried out. Thanks anyways..

Oh yes, I had missed about PK in my post. He should definitely be given a chance as third seamer ahead of any new face that we may try out. IIRC, Praveen Kumar also has pretty decent FC average as a bowler.
