Cricket Tragic Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Bat first. The dew was really bad in Mumbai during the SL-NZ game. It might be something to think about though. Still like to bat first.
Manny_Pacquiao Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 SL middle order is weak.. SL middle order is vulnerable.. SL middle order is this.. SL middle order is that.. :wall: WTF we all know that. No need to repeat it. :finger: I had enough of these comments now (even from SL media). :cantstop: LOL. replace the words middle order with 'bowling attack', and you have my opinion on how i feel about ppl reacting to the performances of our indian cricket team. good luck on saturday. i would like to think that india is gonna play a perfect game but SL are a quality side and i'm sure it will be a close game. after today, you just got another 200 million people supporting you...:haha:
Schickelgruber Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 I don't think Lankans can stop India... the platform is just too perfect for India to lose it.
Ranvir Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Def bat first. When we batted first in 1999 and 2003 we destroyed them big time. When we batted second in 1996 and 2007 we lost :-(
vvvslaxman Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Remember how SL almost bottled against NZ chasing a modest total.
Manny_Pacquiao Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 batting first is best, but this india side is too professional to screw up a chase. and i dont think the players will accept anything less than a win. celebrations after pakistan semi werent as crazy and i am sure dhoni and kirsten told them all whats at stake. india will win either way, IMO.

Manny_Pacquiao Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Yep, I can get it. :haha: I have only one.. only one concern, and that is ALL the set up (this includes the history as well) is too perfect for u guys to fail. :nervous: well, remember 1996. exactly the same scenario. that looked perfect for us too and we know how it went down... india beat pakistan in the QFs, everybody was super excited and then SL won the semi. this time we had the same matches at different stages and a final is bigger than a semi, but my point is that u really shouldnt be concerned about anything. all the pressure is on India. but i just have a feeling that we will win this time...

Everyone assumed we'd meet Pakistan in the final and win. Didn't happen.
yoda Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Guys we have broken the semi final jinx at home When did this happen? :girly1:
Square Drive Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 well, remember 1996. exactly the same scenario. that looked perfect for us too and we know how it went down... india beat pakistan in the QFs, everybody was super excited and then SL won the semi. this time we had the same matches at different stages and a final is bigger than a semi, but my point is that u really shouldnt be concerned about anything. all the pressure is on India. but i just have a feeling that we will win this time... But I think we also have some pressure this time around because we were one of the tournament favorites. Also, after all Sanga, Mahela and Dilshan are coming to an end of their careers, maybe even Malinga within next few years. so this situation may put some pressure on those players. Of course they will be aware of the fact that India is also desperate to win and feels more pressure. And as Sanga said all the players are pumped up to give a great farewell to Murali. So hopefully it may calm the nerves and will help them to enjoy their best cricket in the match.
Shehezaada Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 We have to win the toss and bat first. Get into the top three and then we should be OK to deal with silva, samaraweera, and matthews. Need to restrict them to 250 max if we bowl first Need to get 275+ if batting first
Square Drive Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 It has been perfect for us to win since 1987' date=' or so we thought. [b']Everyone assumed we'd meet Pakistan in the final and win. Didn't happen. That's too good a fairytale to happen though.
Cricket Tragic Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 That's too good a fairytale to happen though. Not really. Both India and Pakistan were leaders of their group in the league stage. Australia was a pretty average team and England wasn't special. So India and Pakistan were expected to play the final.
Manny_Pacquiao Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 That's too good a fairytale to happen though. will lanka play mendis? and perera?
