ganeshran Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Ravi and Manju are also the number one jinxers and cursers for the Indian team. :hitler: :hitler:

Ram Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Give him some credit as well. There are probably several reasons why he ends up behind the mike during high-stakes matches/events. He obviously must work very hard on his job.
ganeshran Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Ravi was also on during that Afridi 100 in Kanpur. IIRC he was the one who gave Afridi the nickname Boom Boom
vvvslaxman Posted April 7, 2011 Author Posted April 7, 2011 It is not just being one of the commie commentating for the match.. it is commentating for the key moments.
Lord Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 It is not just being one of the commie commentating for the match.. it is commentating for the key moments. yeh,the ones I gave in my post are all winning moements of the matches or the moments that I wrote happened
sharma Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 maybe he is put on during key moments cause of his decibel factor lol
vvvslaxman Posted April 7, 2011 Author Posted April 7, 2011 maybe he is put on during key moments cause of his decibel factor lol Both during yuvi's six sixes and India winning world cup.. he had Bumble next to him. He still managed to steal the moment
vvvslaxman Posted April 7, 2011 Author Posted April 7, 2011 Shastri was there during *THAT* test match in 2001 and was obviously there (as a player) in 1983 and 1985 (B&H WorldSeries) . The lucky man has seen more than 90% of all Famous events in Indian Cricket. Not to mention Hirwani's 16 wickets on debut a world record and the tie test. Infact he was the non striker when the tie happened!!
The Outsider Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Ravi was also on during that Afridi 100 in Kanpur. IIRC he was the one who gave Afridi the nickname Boom Boom More like plagiarized it from Boom Boom Becker.
vvvslaxman Posted April 7, 2011 Author Posted April 7, 2011 May be the topic should be "How lucky is Ravi" !!
Prakat Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 He was the one who called the India-Pak SF the "Mother of all matches" while wrapping up the Aus QF and it became a meme that spread throughout the media in the next few days.
Prakat Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 More like plagiarized it from Boom Boom Becker. Most probably. I remember seeing that on the Front page of the Sun in the 80s.
vvvslaxman Posted April 7, 2011 Author Posted April 7, 2011 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1P_sdYPh71I]YouTube - Sachin Tendulkars first Test match 100[/ame] Richie benaud... sachin's first 100. Listen to sunil gavaskar at 5:00. He hasn't changed one bit has he? :cantstop:
b555 Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Natwest final Adelaide Test Perth Test Nottingham Test World T20 final,007 UV's six sixes Sachin 200 Mohali Test v Aus last year Sachin's 50 test tons(not sure) Sachin's CB series final ton common link-Shastri yes, he is there at almost every landmark in Indian cricket that i remember be it teamwise or individual player wise
Tigerbait Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 I know people here deride him a lot but I actually like Shastri's work.
