It was close today but the symonds/rohit was never broken. cmon teams,they can expose the soft underbelly of the fake mumbaikars 11. :facepalm: its a t20 game both have to got slam-bam from first ball and both are capable of doing that on the kind of tracks we have for IPL. You don't need 7 world class batsmen in such a short format. you are not getting it. the probability of going through 4 batsman is very real whereas to go thru 7 world class batsman is a gigantic task for a bowling side. it won't be easy for the bolwing side to knock over 5 matchwinners only to see the sixth walking in. there is a difference This is T20 and 4 world class batsmen in a domestic T20 tourney is quite enough. Which other IPL team has more batting depth? its true they are able to hide their weaknesses better in a mixed standard attack, however they were exposed even in the CL and in last year's final. its precisely becuase its not enough. if it was enough , they would be winning ipl and cl handily! its not enough unless you win titles! its not highly improbable to knock over four batsmen.period

youngindia Posted April 24, 2011 Author Posted April 24, 2011 I bet Pollard has won more matches for MI in 2 seasons than Badri-ul-Haq in 4. he mostly can play only cameos.cameos are only a suporting role. the meat of the score comes from the big 70's -100's.think of badri's 60-70 vs punjab and our chase of 190+. if you look at csk, we have been driven by raina,hayden,vijay at various times with badri pitching in occasionally. batsmen who can score more than 50.bollinger,murali and ashwin pithced in with the bowling heroics. marsh launched punjab into the semis in the first year,sachin for MI last year. big runs and wickets matter in t20. the basics remain the same.proper batsmen and bowlers are vital.

He asked you to forget about all that and to use Castrol in your car. His ad revenue is directly proportional to Castrol sales.

So Mumbai Indians are not going to win it because they have only 4 'real' batsmen. But minor things like number of 'real' batsmen and bowlers don't matter for a team like CSK to win. Given the same amount of talent at somebody like Dhoni's disposal would have been a different story altogether. Tendulkar is not a good captain. Period. He should give up captaincy and simply play as an icon batsman in the team.
