ganeshran Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 I think Waqar prefers Misbah to Afridi and that could have been the real reason for the conflict. Afridi should still be a part of the team. He is a good bowler and decentish fielder
Mamu Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Didn't somebody say PCB is financially strapped. If I were PCB I would immeidately contact an Event Management Company and start thinking in terms of hosting their meetings and their daily activities on a Live-Stage, which will be comical enough to generate money to bail PCB out.
ganeshran Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 by the way is this real news? I checked Dawn and Geo and no mention of this anywhere
Sir_Afridi Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Lala wanted to rest after WC but was forced to go to WI by Jahaaz Butt. He deserves a break
asterix Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Retard was forced to go, not by Jahaz Butt, but by Retard's dad. He talked sense to his Retarded son, telling him that he might miss out if others perform well and not to ditch the team after the WC loss. He also told him to treat the trip as holidays, which the Retard understood and kept on saying that to all and sundry, that he's on a holiday trip.

ganeshran Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 i'll put 1 dollar it will be reversed. There is no official announcement yet ...

Switchblade Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Oh come on! hes being rested. Him and Waqar are not getting along though in the past too they have had their differences if Im not Wrong. :hmmm:
Asim Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 I think PCB will now give "rest" to Afridi and Waqar one by one in each of upcoming series...
Sachin=GOD Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 I think PCB will now give "rest" to Afridi and Waqar one by one in each of upcoming series... I think its time for the Pak Govt to give PCB a "rest" :giggle:
Gotham Cronie Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 "Afridi was likely to miss the 2 match series in Ireland later this month due to the deteriorating health of his father. Afridi had asked the PCB to be excluded from the tour of the Caribbean due to concerns about his father's health, but it was his father who advised Shahid to tour the West Indies, a request that Afridi reluctantly agreed to. However recent developments have meant that Afridi had to look for a hospital overseas to treat his father, as he was dissatisfied with the treatment in Pakistan that his father was receiving. Afridi is now likely to accompany his father next week to Houston, United States of America for the required operation and was already unlikely to play in Ireland."
ganeshran Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 But there are problems between Afridi and Waqar - he himself admitted that. Me thinks some people dont like Afridi and are trying to frustrate him to get him to quit the captaincy.

Me thinks some people dont like Afridi and are trying to frustrate him to get him to quit the captaincy. I don't know what the exact problems are but I know that apparently the main selector, Mohsin Khan, also has problems with Waqar. As much as I despise some of the things that Afridi does, I would rather keep Mohsin/Afridi than Waqar. Mohsin Khan is one the best selectors Pakistan has had in a while.
ganeshran Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 ^ Local coaches have this problem. Being a part of the system for a long time, they have their own agendas to push and their own group of players they wish to promote. Foreign coaches on the other hand come with a more open mind and tend to judge players based on their abilities.
Sachin=GOD Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 ^In Pakistan. coaches have to come without a mind :phehehe:

Will the US consulate in Karachi even give him visitor's visa after the recent incidents?
