The source of their recent struggles is far far more deeper than what you are painting out to be.

Perhaps the wiser decision would have been to take a 10-12 days break between the IPL and then comeback for the last few matches of the prelim round and the play offs.

Of course when a team suddenly starts looking clueless, there have to be multiple reasons. Am just pointing to one, Murtuza has been their best spinner. It's a mystery why he hasn't been playing on that Wankhede wicket.

It is a miracle that he is still able to walk out to the center and play day in day out. They should have made someone else captain. Because he is captain he plays in every match. It is not good for him or India.

It's simple..The pitches at this time of year and after so many matches will become slow and spin friendly..I don't know how MI coaches and captain failed to understand this simple logic? And you pack your team with trundlers like Munna, Kulkarni, Symonds and ofcourse there's Pollard..And who you have as your spinner? Bhajji the great!! Except for Sachin and Nohit, nobody else in the MI team can counter attack spinners. Infact Symonds and Pollard actually have no clue when they face spinners. The 2 ICL jokers Suman and Rayudu are more like lottery batsmen..Nohit is POSH and he only plays occasional good knocks.. The least Sachin could've done is to drop Munna and Symonds and pack had a couple of additional spinners. But you look at the bench of MI, it SUCKS!! I don't know what they did in the auctions and from where they got these jokers like Blizzard and Davy Jacobs..What a fantastic botch job..They spent all their monies to keep players like Pollu and Bhajji? Atleast they could've got rid og Bhajji.. But then Sachin has a 'soft corner' for Bhajji..

anotherhawkeye Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 We cant put all the blame on Sachin. His captaincy is nothing to write home about, but that doesn't tell the whole story. Bowling except Malina is weak. Batting depends too much on sachin, rohit and rayadu. Nothing wrong with that, except they haven't been firing off late. Sachin is a top batsman in this IPL. Dont think he is tired, but his team is just not good enough. This is what we have ben trying to tell in the 4 batsmen and lonely threads.

zen Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 I am a MI fan but I think it like SA. It will do well when pressure is less but the moment pressure is on, it can crumble ..... But still hoping that it will make it to the KOs and then it's anybody's game I haven't watched a single IPL game this year so ..... Good to see RR, my former team, not doing that bad. Good that it made me feel like an IPL champ in IPL1. hopefully MI will too :P
