Every time he has to bat for more than a few balls he will get found out. He is an out and out slogger who will have one good innings out of every 30, and luckily for him that one was in India in the champions league for Trinidad. In the last league match they played Ray Price instead of him. Or are they saving Symonds for the important matches in the Champions League?

I think Sysmonds is simply not being included in final XI because of poor performances. I agree with the suggestion that for next match Pollard should be reoplaced by Symonds. Pollard has been utterly useless in this IPL. I am always surprised why Sachin asks him to bowl ever. He invariably goes for an economy rate higher atleast by 2 than opposite team's inings run rate. Sachin himself can probably bowl better than him. In batting he proved to be even more inefficient and most of the times proves to be a sitting duck for a qulaity spinner - like he was for Shakib yesterday. Because of his presence MI batting starts looking shaky after 3 down. Fielding is only thing where he justifies his selection in final 11. But then Symonds can also field almost as good.

No Symmo is fit and fine, but since he hasn't been in the best of forms, he has been dropped :)
achilles Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Symo should ideally be in terrible form this year, given his lack of cricket. But he atleast tries, hangs in the middle while batting, fields well and gives his 100%. To be fair though, Pollard too gives his 100%..... with his mouth.

Being fair, I would say Pollard also gives 100%, but he is simply not good enough. Neither in bowling nor in batting.
