2011 Vijay hazare trophy had strange results. jharkand beat virtually every team in their sight. They even upstaged Mumbai and went on to win the whole thing. Also Tamilnadu lost to Vidharba. So there were no real standout performers like last year in List A. Statistically Parthiv, Tiwary, D Karthik, Vijay had good outings.

Started life as a middle order bat, but pretty much opens full time now. Scored a ton for BP XI vs Aus last year, so can open. I hope he gets a shot at the top sooner rather than later, in both ODIs and Tests...I cant say I have seen him bat much, barring a few IPL outings, but from what Ive followed of his career he might be a better long term prospect than Vijay

The Indian hindi news channels have gone berserk. Calling Gambhir all sorts of names, questioning his commitment, his judgment and even his desire to play for the country. As usual pathetic from the media. The guy was a hero two months back and does not deserve this kind of a treatment.

He definitely deserves a chance over Vijay in ODIs

Would like anyone except Vijay in place of Gambhir. Now with so many players resting/out due to injury, I think this ODI series could be really interesting and wouldn't be as easy for India as we all had been thinking for sometime.
