He is easily capable of being our trump-card for the upcoming test series and given that we have (rightly) rested both Zak and Sree, we need as many trump cards as possible, to take 20 wickets. There's no point letting him bowl 10 overs/game for 5 games and letting the Windies batsmen get the hang of him.

Now both are competing for the second spinner's spot in the Test series again, but I see no real favoritism for either by Dhoni.

Now both are competing for the second spinner's spot in the Test series again, but I see no real favoritism for either by Dhoni.[/quote'] Knowing how Dhoni normally operates , am guessing he wants Harbajan out ..if Ashwin & Mishra continue to impress for next 6 months , Harbajan will be dropped ..but like some claim here , it sint easy to drop a senior player just like that ..am no Harbajan fan midn you , but I would not get rid of him in haste unless am sure Ashwin or Mishra are the real deal!

I am especially excited to see at least 3 bowlers who are turning the ball both ways at will [ AM, RA and PC ]. Great spinners are supposed to have a mystery about their bowling and these bowlers are bringing in that element. These spinners are great to watch. Mishra is perhaps the best of the lot at the moment. He has really worked on his bowling and improved a lot. I think he should get some match practice at international level for the time being rather than be hidden as his confidence needs boosting. The hiding part can come 6 months later if he continues to perform. I hope Bhajji uses his doosras and flippers more frequently. At the moment he is mostly using his stock delivery, the standard off spinner. He has become more wokmanlike rather than exciting to watch.

Mishra was given many chances, but he wasn't bowling well. Now, he seems to have got a new zest and is bowling the best he has in his life. I'm sure he will be picked in the XI.

India need to win this series 5-0 to maintain their points level. If India loose their next two matches, and SL win their ODI series against England, SL would go to number 2! and India 3rd! Time to share my grievances for this stupid ODI rankings system like many hypocrites who complain about Test rankings. How does rubbish like Australia maintain it's number one position. Does the ODI rankings not give bonus points to World Cup achievements.

There is always one half-tracker from Chawla every over which gets dispatched for six usually, that's not good enough in ODIs. Though his batting and fielding are big pluses.

Not good enough imo. He lacks consistency of length.
