Anyway' date=' as some of you have even posted, I'll post the entire report of 3rd day from cricinfo: Rahane hits century in tense draw ESPNcricinfo staff August 3, 2011 India Emerging Players had to settle for a draw against South Africa Emerging Players due to bad light ending play at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane when they were four runs away from victory with four wickets in hand. It was an anti-climactic end to a spirited chase as Ajinkya Rahane's 109 off 122 balls and Ambati Rayudu's unbeaten half-century led them to 278 for 6 in 55.1 overs, at which point the umpires decided light was too poor to carry on. Neither team was awarded points after the stalemate, though South Africa copped a penalty of five points for a poor over-rate that left them five overs short of the target, potentially costing India the game. That India had a shot at victory was down to a sporting declaration from the South Africans earlier in the day. Resuming at their overnight score of 122 for 1, South Africa piled on the runs thanks to opener Reeza Hendricks and captain Stiaan van Zyl, both of whom made tons. van Zyl was the more adventurous, making his runs at a strike-rate of 78.52. Hendricks remained unbeaten on 125 when the declaration came at 291 for 3, setting India 282 to win. Opener S Anirudha failed for the second time in the match, but captain Shikhar Dhawan stroked a quick 36 to launch the chase. The Tiwarys, Manoj and Saurabh, then supported Rahane as India made steady progress, before Rayudu opened up. Rahane and CM Gautam were dismissed off successive balls, but Iqbal Abdulla, in Rayudu's company, ensured the chase remained on track, before light faded. POINTS TABLE India and AIS have zero points while NZ and SA are in negatives. ------------------------- yo We do not know anything about fielding, nor do we know much about SA's bowling and batting standards. If only there was more coverage for tournament!
you expect too much, not every batsman ore bowler is going to score runs or take wickets every time. i think both tiwary's did well, rayudu did well, yadav did well, abdulla did well. rahane scored 100.

None of the guys who recently played for SA A are a part of their emerging players squad. South Africa A squad for Zimbabwe triangular: Jacques Rudolph (capt), Craig Alexander, Farhaan Behardien, Loots Bosman, Dean Elgar, Rory Kleinveldt, Heino Kuhn, Ethy Mbhalati, Ryan McLaren, David Miller, Vernon Philander, Rusty Theron, Roelof van der Merwe, Jonathan Vandiar, Morne van Wyk South Africa Emerging Players squad: Stiaan van Zyl (capt), Kyle Abbott, Temba Bavuma, Andrew Birch, Dale Deeb, Reeza Hendricks, Richard Levi, Pumelela Matshikwe, Mangaliso Mosehle, Ethan O'Reilly, Dane Piedt, Obus Pienaar, Mthokozisi Shezi, Jon-Jon Smuts, Shaun von Berg
quite a few A team's players are known and has played international. few are tried and tested failures like rudolf. but emerging player team has real potential players to play in future especially batsmen like hendricks, sumts, van zyl, etc while o'reilly is a genuine fast bowler who can bowl 145k. jonathan vandiar is in A team who is good was in u19 wc 2008 team.

Did you deliberatley miss the most succesful batsman and bowler' date=' Dhawan and Vinay Kumar? :cantstop:[/quote'] no i forgot both actually. Dhawan too did well. Vinay kumar 4 wickets, but i hope he does not come back in ODI team again for england series because quite a few bowlers like Ishant, zak, Pk, sreeshanth may miss ODI series for several reasons.

India Emerging Players completed an impressive opening day in the second-round of three-day matches, reducing New Zealand A to 24 for 2 after piling up 404 for 6 declared in Townsville. New Zealand justified their decision to bowl, as their opening pair Trent Boult and Andy McKay removed India's top three with only 22 on the board. Manoj Tiwary and Saurabh Tiwary steadied the innings with a fluent century stand though. Saurabh fell for 42 to the left-arm spin of Luke Woodcock, following which a 160-run fifth-wicket partnership between Manoj and Manish Pandey put India firmly in control. The runs came in quick time, with both batsmen striking 11 fours apiece and 14 sixes between them. Pandey was out four short of a hundred and when Manoj was caught off McKay for 188, captain Shikhar Dhawan declared allowing his bowlers a 13-over crack at the New Zealand line-up. They did not disappoint, Vinay Kumar and Jaidev Unadkat snagging an opener each. http://www.espncricinfo.com/emerging-players-tournament-2011/content/story/526141.html

Good job by the spinners to bowl out NZ A for 272. Abdulla took 3/78 and Bhatt took 3/39. Abdulla is the better immediate India prospect because he bats and has had prolonged success in all three formats which will allow us to phase him into the set up more easily. Bhatt has not played much 50 over cricket at List A level nor has he played much T20. The pace bowlers performed similarly. 2 for Unadkat, 1 for Kumar and 1 for Aaron. 6 no balls for Aaron is a source of some but not much concern. In the second innings, NZ A are 48/3. 1 for Bhatt, Kumar and Unadkat. http://www.espncricinfo.com/emerging-players-tournament-2011/engine/current/match/516201.html

M Tiwary' date=' someone who could have had a another crack at playing ODIs, in England.[/quote'] 69 knocks and no centuries in List A cricket suggests he may be one slightly below ODI standard.

Unadkat bowled very economically' date=' but may need another season to get stronger[/quote'] Unadkat is a good bowler with left arm advantage and has a good head on his shoulders. he needs to bulk up a bit nd good 1-2 fc seasons.
