I know Pakis are a different breed, but why would you WANT them to challenge the ICC? They're obviously scum, why would you want them representing your country?

Maybe someone from/in the UK can shed some light on this: All this hacking phones of dead girls/ victims of terrorists attacks is obviously deplorable and punishable legally. For that the journos and the leadership at NOTW who were in the know ( or maybe even supported) that such activities are taking place should be punished. Thats fair enough. What about the people who weren't in the know or worked in the printing/logistics side of NOTW and had nothing to do with those writing those articles for which these phones were tapped. What can they do under UK law? Can they file a case against NOTW for hiding their malpractices + host of other things including mental harassment + re:labor omnia? Can they claim 'forced compensation' ( dunno UK equivalent) ? Now that the paper is shut, these guys will be jobless for no apparent fault of theirs.

For a start all the workers are part of the same union who will obviously be deciding what action to take once all the facts are known. I dont know what they can exactly do under the law but I dont think a huge amount of jobs will be lost, for example the printing and logistics side should be fine because the HQ of NOTW also produce The Sun and The Times so I assume all the staff would be the same for that. And the journalists themselves should have no trouble finding a new job. Also there is specualtion that The Sun will just take over from NOTW anyway after the domain thesunonsunday.com (or something like that) was registered last week which would basically be the same paper just with a different name.

Others will (or should) get a decent redundancy package. Still its a big slap in the face for them, as all the hacking took place years ago before most of them even started.
