Dhoni is captain wk and a batsman so dont judge him on the face of it. he is as good a player as prior (just look at his one day record).and dont compare stats only for judging the better player .even strauss is not in good form and as a batsman doesnt command a place in the side but as a captain he brings much more to the table .

Weather for Lords will be enough time to get a result, 50% chance of rain first day the rest of the days only 10-30% chance. Will be plenty of time for a result. As with Edgbaston its always sunny in Birmingham.
:hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: So how is the weather in Brummie & Tobago this year? :haha::haha::haha:

India-England 100th Test: Odds are even

One of the most striking scenes of Fire In Babylon is when Tony Greig says he will make the West Indies grovel in the 1973 home series. Those words inspire Clive Lloyd’s men and the rest is history. Greig’s England end up grovelling in the series. Andrew Strauss is no Tony Greig but he was not short on bravado. On the eve of the first Test, he declared that England will try to make life difficult for Sachin Tendulkar. “We will prevent his milestone,†the England skipper said. Tendulkar has a very ordinary record at the Lord’s, his highest score being a lowly 37 in four Tests. His average here is less than half of his career average and he has managed a mere 149 runs from eight innings. Over 21 years into international cricket, Tendulkar surely does not need provocation, but he could make life difficult for the English team and its skipper. Fresh and fit, the Little Master is on a dream run lately. His current average (in the last three years) is over 76. Strauss could realise to his dismay that he could have done well without saying those words. Having beaten Australia in away Ashes series, England now strive to displace India as No 1 team. That sure is a mathematical possibility as a 2-0 or a better result will dethrone MS Dhoni’s men but recent records tell a different tale altogether. England have not beaten India in a series since 1996 and have not won a series against India with a higher than 1-0 margin at home since 1974. England have lost to India in their last two series. No 1 ranking? Well, the history is against the home team. For India, it would be a different challenge. In the 15 Test series in England, India have lost the opening match 12 times, winning once and drawing twice. So Dhoni’s men, too, will be up against history if they aspire to win the series. They will be up against history at Lord’s too. In their 15 Tests, India have managed only one win and two draws. They could have lost one more time but were saved by weather and resolute batting from Dhoni and Shantakumaram Sreesanth in 2007. India saved that Test. India will need such batting in the next five days to protect their reputation as the best side in the world although Dhoni would want one to believe that ranking won’t matter to him. “You can look at the No 1 ranking and feel good about it but for us, ranking is not as important as winning — be it against England or Bangladesh,†the India skipper said. “For us, every Test is a challenge.†India will face quite a few challenges in the series and particular in the Lord’s Test, which has immense historical significance.

Ind or Eng 0-1 down, 3 more tests to go .... how many of you are confident that Ind will still win or at least draw the series? *Poll coming up*

Delete this poll and make the votes visible. I find it difficult to imagine how this match can result in a draw. If weather doesn't spoil the game, then the match will be easily over in 5 days.

Oops! Anyways, it doesn't change my view about the series. Two matches will produce the result and I believe India can win those.

Series : India 2-1 Leading Run scorer - Dravid Leading wicket taker - Zak Highest innings scorer - Strauss Most wickets in a match - Ishant Bowlers with 5 wickets - Ishant, Bhajji Flops - Cook, Bell, Anderson Hits - Trott, Dravid, Sachin, KP, Raina, Swann
Think Zak wont play the next test too.. revising my prediction Leading wicket taker - Ishant

India will come into the next match with one useless spin bowler, one temperamental pace bowler who can bowl all over the place once English batsmen upset him, one slow medium pace bowler who becomes useless once swing deserts him India also have a wicket keeper batsman without technique to play on swinging conditions, one opener who is raw, and one batsmen weighed down by immense expectations of the 100th 100. Tough ask for India in my opinion. What this team needs is an adrenaline boost and Sehwag.

India 2 England 1...1 draw....Very heated competition with some fines' date=suspensions(Not the pakistan type) and words exchanged, Youngsters might struggle, Seniors will win it for us,our bowling will be a surprise package, Bhajji will atleast over-perform in 1 test, Dhoni will struggle with the bat. Goddy will get No.100 but we will have some anxious moments Sreeshanth will be a surprise package Pietersen will fail Swann will be tamed Bell will be the top-performer Prior will surprisingly be a thorn in our flesh Finn and Tremlett might be the ones to watch out for.
Just look at my Predictions :omg:
