WC2011INDIA
Guys what happened to Zaheer? I watched only the first 30-40 minutes...:nervous: Link to comment
The Realist
If he is ruled out of this game, I hope we follow the example of West Indies who still bowled their hearts out after Rampaul was ruled out of bowling in the first innings in Dominica. Time for others to step up and prove we are a team and not relying on 1 or 2 individuals. Especially Old Harbi needs to STEP UP and LEAD the other bowlers. The days of Harbhajan Singh showing any leadership are long long gone. He is now in terminal decline and and is a passenger in bowling terms. The only thing he delivers thesedays are lame TV ads. Midfielder
Is there any confirmation as whether its cramps or hammy strain? IV fluids would have fixed cramps. It is definitely more. Link to comment
gloryof83
yes, but is there any official news / confirmation from the team management. so far all I can find is speculation with no official source. Link to comment
sivanand
Hi ICF folks my first post here. i share the same disappointment on zaheer injury. But do we deserve to be no1 just depending one real match winning bowler. and to people who are asking for zaheer's retirement,he is the probably the most skillful bowler india has ever produced.India needs more of zaheer in tests than zaheer needs our team.We have to maximum use of zaheer can offer in the remaining time span Link to comment

DeepFineLeg
Exact quote from the team mgmt on Zak "Zaheer Khan is being looked after by a medical team. It was a strain on the hamstring and he is undergoing investigation," Anirudha Chaudhary, the Indian team manager, said after the first day's play Link to comment
Cricket Tragic
According to Fletcher, the injury is not as serious as they first thought and they will get the details later this morning. Link to comment

Holysmoke
Why are we forgetting Munaf Patel. I would seriously prefer munaf to sree. 37/1 off 20 overs is better than 137/2 of 20 overs. Link to comment
Holysmoke
If zak is out of the series, maybe we can call for another spinner from India. Link to comment
NareshK
I think RP will get a call if ZK is not fit because Shastri and Gavaskar said during commentary that a left arm swing bowler is important in the side and he did well during the last tour to England if I remember correctly. In fact, he has done well most times when the ball has swung but lack of match practice will be a concern. Link to comment

Munaf has played 1 test match in the last 2 years. It is likely that he won't last a test match either. Link to comment
