julianlev Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 good cripes just learned that my team is due to play both Chennai and Mumbai in our group matches getting into the CL and then finding we're going to play the best teams in the comp should have an easier time against NSW though will RCB have Gayle for this tournament?

I am pretty sure RCB will have Gayle. BTW in the first CL, IPL teams struggled. Only in the last one did CSK do good, altho I don't remember how the other IPL teams did.
Serani Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Why are there three IPL sides? Isnt that a bit silly? Why are there no pakistani sides? (omg in b4 i get called a "paki" but this surely is not fair) Isnt that a bit silly? Why do people care about this tournament? Isnt it a bit silly?
Switchblade Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Why are there three IPL sides? Isnt that a bit silly? Why are there no pakistani sides? (omg in b4 i get called a "paki" but this surely is not fair) Isnt that a bit silly? Why do people care about this tournament? Isnt it a bit silly? There is also a qualifier stage so you might have KKR as the fourth team . Its a tournament organised by CSA,ACB and BCCI so they decide which team plays and which team doesnt.
Switchblade Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 I think that one of England,s domestic t20 side also play in the qualifiers alongwith Trinidad and Tobago and some other teams
kabira Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Why are there three IPL sides? Isnt that a bit silly? Why are there no pakistani sides? (omg in b4 i get called a "paki" but this surely is not fair) Isnt that a bit silly? Why do people care about this tournament? Isnt it a bit silly? Its Indian tournament where we allow SAcans and Aussie Boards to make some money as well :--D:--D:--D
Trichromatic Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Why do people care about this tournament? Isnt it a bit silly? If you don't know answer to first two questions yet then you don't need to know it in future either. Why do people care about this tournament? Isnt it a bit silly? People have different thoughts and some people enjoy such tournaments. You can't really complain about what some people like. If you don't like such matches then don't watch it. I do the same.
Sid Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Yet another tontee-tontee tournament, yet another title for CSK :winky:
Gotham Cronie Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 For those saying it's a India/Aus/SA venture, then why is there a space in the international calendar being given to it?
yoda Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 For those saying it's a India/Aus/SA venture' date=' then why is there a space in the international calendar being given to it?[/quote'] cause the BCCI controls the ICC. :dontknow:
Laaloo Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 When does it start? It's not listed in the FTP http://static.espncricinfo.com/db/DOWNLOAD/0000/0045/ftp_2011_2020.pdf

(omg in b4 i get called a "paki" but this surely is not fair) Isnt that a bit silly? Why do people care about this tournament? Isnt it a bit silly? Allowing any side in the tournament is the prerogative of the owner boards. If ICC foot the bill for the tournament, then you would be right in asking for an equal representation. However it is BCCI, ACB, CSA who is organizing the tourney and they get to decide who plays and who doesnt. ECB was invited to be a part of it as well, but they declined it and took part in the Stanford tournament.
Mariyam Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 forgive me' date=' but I'd rather watch cow lashing (and where the hell does that come from?) then spend five days watching a match that will inevitably end in a draw[/quote'] You are suddenly my favourite poster. :icflove:
ganeshran Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 For those saying it's a India/Aus/SA venture' date=' then why is there a space in the international calendar being given to it?[/quote'] Pakistan, Zimbabwe, west Indies and Bangladesh are playing during the champions league period. The teams that are not playing are participating in the league itself. Its not like no international cricket is happening then.
King Tendulkar Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Why are there no pakistani sides? (omg in b4 i get called a "paki" but this surely is not fair) Isnt that a bit silly? STATE SPONSORED TERRORISM AGAINST INDIA and INDIANS! yeah real silly thing to be worried about indian being killed
Serani Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 So do the pakistani cricketers engage in terrorist activity?
Switchblade Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 So do the pakistani cricketers engage in terrorist activity? BCCI, ACB, CSA are organizing this tournament and they get to decide who plays in the tournament
ganeshran Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 So do the pakistani cricketers engage in terrorist activity? Did Zimbabwe cricketers engage in political violence? http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/cricket/zimbabwe-tour-cancelled-as-ecb-cuts-ties-in-response-to-crisis-854209.html Zimbabwe will not tour England next year after Lord's officially severed ties with the African country yesterday and the government concluded it would not be right for a tour to go ahead. The England and Wales Cricket Board released a statement confirming that it was suspending bilateral arrangements following the lead of South Africa earlier this week in response to the political violence in the country under president Robert Mugabe.
