But at the same time, also proud of the way our boys fought it out till the finish. Playing close to 100 overs in the 4th innings is no joke. This test could have easily gotten over half-way past the post-lunch session. We literally had no business making the test last as long as it did, with all the unexpected injuries and setbacks. Come on India! :isalute:

VRV Singh Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 It is disappointing. But at least most of our bowlers have acclimatised and you could attribute this loss more to underperforming batsmen, for whom this is quite rare. For the moment, well done England for a good win.

NareshK Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Its not easy to just keep losing the first test and bounce back in overseas series. There will be pressure on the team to do well and England will have lots of confidence and self belief going into the second test and that's a massive advantage. Its also annoying to watch India lose the first test time and again and play catch up. Its mostly because of bad planning and preparation.

We damn well know we are poor starters and how important this series is. Yet we played IPL for two months, put all our players on a stretcher, gave them a game against Somerset & sent them to the guillotine. We deserve this. And oh, any team that depends so heavily on one bowler and one opening batsman does not deserve to be #1.

Performed even worse than those who just landed just a week ago.. If he was sick during the match, I hope the team management doesn't plays him in the next match if he ain't fit.. Too many white elephants in the room..

There is no point in mentioning misfortunes. No matter what the fortunes be, fact is that we didn't bowl in bowling friendly condition (day 1). Ishant struggled to find his length and he was ordinary. Can't speak about Bhajji's performance. He was worse than part-timers. Batting conditions weren't that bad and still we didn't cross 300 in any inning. Batsman will have to improve a lot. But like you said, we shouldn't gutted. This was one test where almost everything went wrong. You can take few positives like Raina's inning, Dravid, Ishant and PK. We can only improve from this position.
