Maybe a few years ago in Andersons case, but they are a far better unit now. you all love sehwag because of his big hitting These last two tests have not been those sorts of games for most of the sessions
When Sehwag plays, India is a different team. I will tell you little instance here. India tour australia IN 08. India didn't play Sehwag in first two test. Dravid opened with Jaffer and Brett lee used to bowl those big spells of 10 overs intially. and used to really put us in trouble. Ponting was having fun having his best bowler bowl long spell right from the start. Kumble brings back Sehwag in perth test, the third test. Sehwag scores 40 odd. Not any massive score, but between those 40 runs, Australia had tried 5 different bowlers. Ponting had to remove his best bowler Sehwag right away. Thats the effect of Sehwag. He has been doing this for India since ages. There is a reason why not many people have 50+ average as openers. He is one of those Unique players. Not born every day.

I do not deny that he is a game changer Just that he might have found it hard here in the conditions

Mukund scoring 40 and Sehwag scoring 40, would look same but it will leave different impact on the team.

We have injury too No Tremlett Gambir played Zak is a big loss for you guys I agree
Never thought it would be easy. I thought a full strength India against a full strength England could go either way. Inda's best 3 players are Sehwag, Zak and SRT (India are missing 2 of them). For England, this would be like Trott, Anderson and Cook missing out (however, i feel Sehwag miss out is completely different to Trott or Cook missing out and weakens India far more as he is a once in a generation talent) Gambhir along with VVS is India's next best player and he was the sort of guy we needed to drop anchor in the 2nd innings at Lord's but he played through the pain barrier in an unfamiliar position. India are missing 3 key players right now. Tremlett missing for England does weaken them but they have good strength in depth, it is nothing compared to India's absence. If Trott misses out in the 2nd innings it does weaken England a lot as he has been England's best batsman in the last 2 years.

Hmm we are at home I could think of 5 batsmen to slip into Trotts place at home Carberry being one of them

i think anybody who knows anything about intl cricket would say india would have had a very very big challenge winning against a vastly improved english side

Honestly at full strength IMO England is no match for India. At the start of the series I predicted 3-0 to India. I truly feel had Zak not broken down Lords would have been different. Yes the batting let us down, but lil things through out the game make major differences and they can't be discounted
