someone Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 SL Elstone Who is he? I mean how can a substitute fielder be out of your squad or basically can a substitute fielder be anyone in the country( a common man with great fielding)????
akshayxyz Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 No I create such threads amongst all the dirt which is created about a team after just few players are dismissed or a team is down. We can do with out, but no people keep on creating trash threads an become anti-Indian team in seconds. I like your spirit mate. No top player/team becomes trash overnight. It takes time to get there, and it takes time to step down (or for others to replace). One can say these are excuses, but fact of the matter is - the contest so far was not between two top sides. I hope to see a relatively fair contest in rest of the two matches.
achilles Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Dude, it is friggin England. Seems like you forgot Gary Pratt- 3wSIzbSQ_Kw
Texy Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Rate the Performance - 2nd Test Mukund -- 2/10 -- Failed in both innings, possibly worse than M. Vijay Dravid -- 8/10 -- Brilliant Century in the 1st innings...he has done his job for the most part Lax -- 7/10 -- Good half century and partnership in the 1st inning...faltered in the 2nd Tendu -- 1/10 -- Horrible series for him so far..too much imp given to his 100, his 50 in the 2nd came too little too late...Came to England 1 month before...skipped WI series... Yuvi -- 7/10 --- Good Contribution in the 1st inning, helped us go past 200..did Bhajji's job and took a wicket as well Raina -- 3/10 -- hasn't improved technically...found out every time... M$D - 0/10 --- Failed w/ Leadership, Failed as a Captain, Failed as a batsman, Stubborn as a mofo and kept gifting runs to Eng on Day 3 in the third man region....can sell his team/country to preserve his personal image...spirit of the game award best candidate Bhajj - 1/10 --- Once again failed w/ the ball, didn't bowl much ....1 point for fight back given in the 2nd inning PK - 8/10 --- Great Effort, 7 wickets in this test match, handy w/ the bat....can't expect much else from him Ishu - 5/10 --- so Inconsistent....bowls good one day, horrible another day Sree - 5/10 ---- Great 1st inning contribution, expensive 2nd inning Duncan Flether the Coach --- -10/10 ---- Suppose to know in and out of the English team? Suppose to be an expert? Was hired specifically for Mission England? Obviously was shocked to see the way Team England performed. Not the same team he coached. He's got to go
Kookabura Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Yeah the guy fielded through most of the test. Weird stuff
gult Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 I think you're a bit generous with your ratings. Laxman and Yuvi 7/10?
Trichromatic Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Mukund : 1/10 Dravid : 7/10 Laxman : 4/10 Tendulkar : 2/10 Raina : 0/10 Yuvi : 5/10 Dhoni : 0/10 Harbhajan : 1/10 PK : 7/10 Ishant : 4/10 Sree : 5/10 _____________ Overall team : 3/10
cameron_black Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 so can this be used as an excuse for the loss?
Texy Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 I think you're a bit generous with your ratings. Laxman and Yuvi 7/10? think about it....w/o their contribution in the 1st inning we wouldn't have gone past 200
Yoda-esque Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Mukund - 0/10 Dravid - 7/10 VVS - 5/10 Tendulkar - 1/10 Yuvi - 4/10 Raina - 1/10 (fielding and bowling) Dhoni - 0/10 Harby - 1/10 Sree - 4/10 PK - 6/10 Ishant - 4/10
Blue Panther Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 What is there to rate yaar? The rating is england -2, india-0( Dont piss me off by saying india is still no.1 interms of ranking.)
someone Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 so can this be used as an excuse for the loss? no, when did you start to come with the conclusion? But the point is now, I mean anyone can have an opportunity to play with international stars if he can stop/catch the ball well irrespective of his own batting/bowling skills. That is really ridiculous...
veer Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 so can this be used as an excuse for the loss? do you want us to?
Sir john Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 dravid 6/10 yuvi 4/10 laxman 3/10 pk 3/10 sree 2/10
anotherhawkeye Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 M - 0/10 --- Failed w/ Leadership, Failed as a Captain, Failed as a batsman, Stubborn as a mofo and kept gifting runs to Eng on Day 3 in the third man region....can sell his team/country to preserve his personal image...spirit of the game award best candidate Duncan Flether the Coach --- -10/10 ---- Suppose to know in and out of the English team? Suppose to be an expert? Was hired specifically for Mission England? Obviously was shocked to see the way Team England performed. Not the same team he coached. He's got to go[ Agree with both. Dhoni seem to be hoping for a miracle (luck) to happen to save/win test matches than doing some actual planning. He also keeps sticking to his "boys" till the end. Prime example for "it's better to be lucky than good". WTF is Fletcher doing? The team looks lost and demoralized and he doesn't seem to be doing anything. It's still early days to rate him though.
cricketman Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Mukund 1/10 Dravid 9/10 Laxman 6/10 Tendulkar 2/10 Raina 1/10 Yuvraj 6/10 Dhoni 1/10 Harbhajan 0/10 Praveen 5/10 Ishant 4/10 Sreesanth 5/10
Yoda-esque Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 dravid 6/10 yuvi 4/10 laxman 3/10 pk 3/10 sree 2/10 :giggle: Good one SJ
koolkarts Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Mukund - 0/10 Dravid - 7/10 VVS - 5/10 Tendulkar - 1/10 Yuvi - 4/10 Raina - 1/10 (fielding and bowling) Dhoni - 0/10 Harby - 1/10 Sree - 4/10 PK - 6/10 Ishant - 4/10 This. Although, I would give Ishant higher simply due to effort. Bowling Bhaji's overs in the heat yesterday, even though he was getting battered, he kept on running in for the team. COMMITMENT. And disagree with VVS getting a 5. Maybe a 3. Got out at completely the wrong time, and the most crucial times. The way Mukund was batting, you would have felt that Ishant could have been a better opener!
gult Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 think about it....w/o their contribution in the 1st inning we wouldn't have gone past 200 I agree with koolkarts on this one. Laxman got out at a crucial time and certainly doesn't deserve 70%
