Yantra Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Guys I have seen this fast bowler playing in JPL (Jharkhand Premier league) they were showing highlight on Ten cricket. He looks to be quite pacy, probably around 135-145K, batsmans was quite often got beaten for pace I know that they were not international class but still this guy looks quite impressive he's got bounce, pace, nice sideon action and he is tall and athletic build he looks same hight as Ishant but much more muscle then Ishant, how many bowlers from India are tall, athletic and strongly built? we had few in the past but none of them was athletic, a physical characteristic must have by fast bowler at international class, we had V Prasad, A kuruvilla, M patel, VRV singh, none of them is athletic, Ishant is exception. I can see him playing next IPL, with little bit of policing and hard work should get picked for India A or other second India teams.

Yantra Posted August 2, 2011 Author Posted August 2, 2011 Saurabh is a batsman, so it will not be easy to replicate his success at higher level where you are required more skills, but for a bowler if he has got a basic alright he can be successful at any level, if you have speed, bounce and swing you can do well. btw, Varun A is also from Jharkhand and so as our Captain.

Did they show the speeds on the Television or you are speculating ? If he is fast, then good. And the obvious question is How old is he ?
darkknight Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 If India don't play enough 1st class matches, it won't have enough reserve players for test matches. Saurabh, Rohit, virat needs lots of refining with their technique to become test player. I don't see any fast bowlers sustaing in Indian team, high burn out and low shelf life.
Yantra Posted August 2, 2011 Author Posted August 2, 2011 They were not showing the speed but you can make it out the way balls was thudded in to the gloves of keeper and the way batsmans were jumping around. RS sodhi and Ajay Sharma was the commentators when I was watching and they were quite impressed too, I mean these were former India internationals.

The spotlight rested firmly on batsman Sandeep Gupta, leg spinner Abhishek Khare and fast bowler Abhishek Tamark, all from Dhanbad Diamonds. Opting to bat first, Ranchi Rangers got off to a slow start, with openers Subrato Ghosh, a Ranji player, and Babul, putting on 30 runs, when the latter got out on a delivery by Ashish Yadav. Babul’s lofted shot was caught by Abhishek Tamark. Yadav, who bowled four overs, conceded only 13 runs. Ranchi captain Ishank Jaggi’s bad luck continued as he scored only five runs, falling to a catch by Tamark at 39 runs. But the most scintillating over of the match was bowled by young leg spinner Abhishek Khare, who took 3 wickets, those of Ratan Kumar (13), Santosh Lal (2) and Subrato Ghosh (39). Ghosh looked set for a long innings, but a well-pitched googly knocked off stumps and did him in. Tamark took 2 wickets for 18 runs in four overs. The other pacer S.S. Rao chipped in with 2 wickets for 21 runs in 3.4 overs. Ranchi Rangers folded their innings at a paltry 108 in 18.4 overs. Gupta, who remained unbeaten at the crease on 51 runs, won the Man of the Match award. In the other match Jamshedpur Jaanbaaz defeated Bokaro Bulls by 11 runs.
