I bought from a kiosk in one of the malls. These turkish dudes sell those for very expenisve price. They have some for even 300 bucks. Different size diff prize. They are very addictive though man.
Shane Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 1992, At the age of 5 - The He-Man Set that I had, inclusive of Battle Cat and Skeletor :P The Hot Wheels Racing Car Track, with 2 cars, was never a fan of the Gi-Joes 8 bit video game, titles like Super Mario, Pinball, Duck Hunt with the wired Gun. 16 bit Sega Mega video game with Cricket being introduced for the very first time I dont know if it counts, but one my most priced possessions were a couple of Wills and MRF stickered cricket bats which I got when I was 9, sadly on the flight back from Goa they didnt allow us to carry them back, we had to leave them at the airport. I really missed those bats :((

akshayxyz Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 lots of spoilt kids here..almost no plastic toys for us :((, for good though. key memories - Match boxes (and lot of random scrap items) - 100s of empty match boxes - havent heard/seen any lego stuff that time monopoly - played a lot with sister in make shift tents in hot summer afternoons on roof top. cricket (outdoor and alone practice against wall) Most memorable times - spending summers in grandparent's village. Mango trees, tube wells, and lot of other time pass stuff typical only to old-time villages.

Used to make all sorts of projects with tiny circuit boards, ICs, transistors, resistors, diodes, lcd screens, relays, servos, light sensitive diodes, what nots. LEDs (red was all they had at first) and then flouro. green and white and then the ones that could switch colors with three pins. IC 555 was your best friend!

These home-science projects reminds me of a very funny incident (in retrospect). I learnt that reacting NaOH with Coconut Oil will get me soap. But there was no NaOH at home, so I figured I can get it by reacting CaO+H2O with NaHCO3 (baking soda)..I waited for the opportunity to be alone at home. I so much wanted to try 'self-made' soap that, I faked stomach problem, when my parents wanted to take me to republic day parade/celebration in the city. So, after experimenting around with these raw materials - It looked like I got the soap. As per the chemical equation (NaOH+Oil), Glycerine is one of the byproduct. I knew that glycerine tastes a bit sweet. So, I thought if the liquid residue tastes sweet, the other thing is guaranteed to be soap (it was still not settled, so I had doubts). But, that liquid residue turned out to be the bitter-most thing I ever tasted. I immediately panicked, thinking that experiment has gone wrong, and I have made some poison. I was so much panicked that I gargled with "Neem" soap and also with "Rin". Even after that I was not convinced that the 'poison' is washed off. So, I lied on bed, with my eyes closed and 'waited to die' - I was surprisingly calm by then. Only to wake up couple of hours later, alive and ready to try the soap - which had solidified by then. :)

I was collecting it and putting it inside a glass bottle - I think I meant to do something with it. Later in the evening, I was doing my homework and was absentmindedly chewing on the end of the pencil. A few minutes later I realized that what I was tasting was copper sulphate. I was scared but didn't tell anyone, and washing and brushed my teeth twice that night. I went to sleep thinking I had about 50% chance of waking up.

Almost as big as me. I used to think that it was alive and could hear and understand everything but couldn't talk. I used to feed it and cover it with a blanket every night before I slept. When I used to come back home from school, I used to 'check' on the teddy. It took my parents months to convince me that the toy was a toy and not a person. :giggle: 2) I sued to play twister with my friends, parents, parents of friends and almost everyone who came to my home. Loved the game. 3) Had this virtual pet thing which was a craze back then. 4) Uno cards 5) 6 in 1 games that included chess, Indian chess, checkers, mastermind, 4 in a row and dominoes ( not the Pizza).
