If Zaheer can come back , sreesanth can come back, Ishant can come back, RP Singh can come back, Dravid can come back in ODI's after a layoff, why the hell can't Irfan be bought back to give him another shot at the International Arena

Taken a hattrick in Tests in Pakistan Has a Century in Tests against Pakistan Was leading the wickets tally in the Perth Victory. Has done reasonably well in Tests. There are numerous other examples which i can pull for you if you would like. Off late he was not bowling well, but that **** happens with everyone, give me a player who has not gone through a rough phase, but you can't ignore a guy with the skills Irfan Has.
60 wickets in 25 tests at an average of 45 is not a rough phase but stats of a player who is not good enough. Go ahead and bring up the "numerous other" examples of his great test match bowling. You've named the same 2 that I did (Perth and hat-trick). Even in the Karachi hat-trick match he got murdered after that.

Well as i said, he did not do well Off late, that's agreed by Irfan himself, but it's been a long time dude, to me he deserves another chance, no harm in trying, when the others are raping the country . Atleast he would be motivated to prove his mettle again.

I WISH we could have somebody who could keep irfan on the bench, but unfortunately there are none in the Domestic Scene. If there were i would happily vote for a better talent, but we a country of a Billion are Talent Limitied, there are hardly any bowlers who can go out and prove themselves, we look to the likes of Dhawal Kulkarni, Vinay Kumar, Trivedi, which tells us what the future holds. There are signs in Varun, Umesh, but they have the same average in the longer format of Domestic Circuit as Irfan has in the International circuit. I see Unadkat as promising, very promising, if he ups his pace, he already has the height, and the attitude to bowl. But the Veggie, needs more fast twitch muscles to generate more pace. He will be the one to watch out for if he adds it in his armory.

hmm not a bad idea in swinging/seaming conditions
He has fallen out with dhoni or selectors so he will not get chance, unless new panel comes but he is must for odis and t20 he is 68

Selectors should have never dropped him in first place, he was handy cricketer, not saying he was great bowler or great batsmen, He is more useful than likes of Yuvi/Raina at no. 7 in tests. That way India can afford to have 5 bowlers. Greg Chappel is actually proven right in this Eng series, you see Eng bats to number 10. Mistake that Guru Greg made was pushing him higher in the batting order, which triggered his collapse.

It's time to get over the "tum hoti to aisa hota, tum hote to waisa hota' syndrome. If those in the squad for a series haven't done well, accept that the opposiiton has outplayed you. And irrespective of wether XYZ or Bradman himself was there, the results would have been no different.

he hasnt played test cricket since march 2007, more than 4 years ago! big gamble to bring him back for this series! stick with RP and even if he was picked his heroics (if suceeded) couldnt win us the test
No he played in the Perth test in Jan 2008 & showed us his allruond capability.

He is not being ignored, he is been out with injury for ages and needs AT LEAST one whole good FC season before he can be considered even close to a test recall. In fact the selectors did great by him to ensure his injury was fully treated and the recovery was complete, sending him to Aus and aiding his rehab. I am a fan of Irfan but he needs to work on his bowling a bit before he can come back. This is the guy who was MOTM in our best test win of the last few years- Perth 08- lest we forget. On the brighter side for him the last few FC matches he has played-a while ago now- he has bowled well. Just needs to keep it going.

my bad, meant to say 2008 against south africa! please, one test match does not show the value of a cricketer! 3 years he hasnt played, and all of a sudden people want to bring him back for the last test cause a few cricketer are out of form, what good will that do? he hasnt played any serious test cricket in a long time, and if hasnt already sunk in weve lost this series, so what difference does it make with him in the team?
