Some differences and similarities as far as grammar and words are concerned with other Indian languages. It will be oif great help. Any websites from where we can learn sanskrit by self, etc... All your help is greatly appreciated
Trichromatic Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Those who know Hindi, they will find learning Sanskrit bit easier than others. It's easiest language to learn anyways. Sanskrit has one of the oldest Grammar in the history. It was written by Panini (पाणिनि). He was a slow learner in his childhood and had no confidence over himself.

Sanskrit, like any other language, has evolved over a period of time. Sanskrit was re-discovered in a way after we entered what is known as the Kali Yuga in 3102/3112 BC. There was what is called "Vedic Sanskrit" first...the language in which the Rig Veda, as we know today, was re-written. Panini was the scholar who put together and made the grammatically rich Sanskrit that has been in use ever since. Other languages that existed between Sanskrit and classical Sanskrit were Pali, Prakrit, Tamil, etc. The polished Sanskrit has influences from Tamil. During the olden days there was spoken Sanskrit and literature-Sanskrit. You can draw parallels to it by observing Bambayya Hindi (spoken Sanskrit) and literature Hindi (written Sanskrit). The dating of Panini's existence is not correctly captured by the Indologists and is wrongly taught. Panini's development of Sanskrit sez that the language developed not more than 3000 yrs ago which is false. Of course this belief comes from the stupid belief that the Earth came into existence in 4004 BC. Indian History believes that the development of Sanskrit (the Sanskrit used in Yajur Veda, etc) is probably older than 3000 BC. So the chronology is more like the following: Vedic Sanskrit -> Pali, Prakrit, Tamil -> Literature Sanskrit

Can someone write Sanskrit equivalents and answers ?
ravishingravi Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 This is all the sanskrit I remember. This was rhyme used to memorize the use of pronouns. Th method is pretty similar to german. "Karta ne karm ko karn se apadhan se sambandh mein ka ke ki ra re ri adhikaran sambodhan hey re arre" or something along those lines. Getting back to sanskrit is on my bucket list to.
