Trichromatic
:haha:.. What I meant was' date=' our only option might be to go with the same seamers as the 2nd test..[/quote'] It's not about the whether we will give other bowlers a chance or not, rather it's more about having more options. Injuries are sometimes unfortunate and in case if we fall short of bowlers due to some unexpected injury then what will we do? Zak was not an unfortunate case. Team knew that he is not fit. Yet we carrying him. Being best bowler doesn't mean that you should get unnecessary place in team. At least some youngster would have these tour matches. They would have learned something. What did we gain by keeping a bowler who is known to be unfit from the start. Link to comment
anotherhawkeye
^^ Agree with that. No question we need to send him back and get some one at least for the sake of getting that bowler used to the English conditions. But our best test seamers are already in England. Link to comment
Hell Raiser
Glad he is out. We should call Abhimanyu Mithun or Vinay Kumar as his replacement.:yay::yay::yay: Link to comment
Septimius Severus
Should go with 2 'fast bowlers' and 2 spinners. Best chance for 20wickets, nom saiyan. Link to comment
kabira
alright No Zaheer so we have XI decided. Mishra comes in for Bhajji, Gambhir comes in for Mukund, Sehwag in for Yuvraj Link to comment

akshayxyz
This time its Zak who is at fault. played tour match to bowl only 3 overs!!, that means he knew very well that he is not fit.. This much he could have assessed in nets too. Link to comment
Trichromatic
Mishra will get the chance and I believe he will contribute. Link to comment
veer
sree, ishan and praveen are best option we got.. lets just stick with them and mishra.. and hope things turn out well.. bowlers did the ok job considering pitch and resources... it's the batsmen who are screwing us.. Link to comment
akshayxyz
resign and go home early. Link to comment
Guest Gunner
When I saw Zak bowled only 3 overs, it was clear. They should send him home right away. Like I said earlier when he first got injured his test career is over. He played his last test at Lord's, the most you can do is working him to fitness for the Oz tour as a farewell. Nothing more really. Link to comment
ravsdh
Bat first: big score... or let Zak (if playing) try to bundle em out for a low score and get big lead?? And team selection: Mukund/Raina/Kohli Ojha/Mishra? zak? i think you better look at the bowling figures for the tour match :) Link to comment
Number
and we are on verge of losing another game on this tour because of him... Link to comment

Sooda
His belly is a disgrace! Aye, he has piled the pounds on. Pretty unprofessional, not least for a pace bowler. Manjrekar had a good write up on Kapils commitment to keeping himself fit, and same hold true for Dravid too. Maybe Gunner is right, perhaps Zaheers career is over. Link to comment
Septimius Severus
A soon to be 33yr old with chronic injuries and weight problems...the beginning of the end imho Link to comment
Guest Gunner
Absolute pandemonium!! I can't think of another way to title the shambles unfolding in front of us. This is the weakest and so far out of ideas I have seen Indian cricket in for a very long time. The last time a tour unfolded like this must have been over 15 years ago. Every decision made by the selection committee and team management reflects fear, fatigue and sheer lack of mental strength. India has been mentally disintegrated, there is no other way to put this. We have a team out there in England and we need to just field the best XI and play as well as we can instead of thinking about who we should/could have had. The ODI selections shouldn't taint the ongoing test series and I hope the team management ignores it for the time being. This series can still be salvaged with half the tests to be played but only if we regain confidence and clarity of thought. I hope we will pull ourselves together instead of behaving like 12 year old school girls who just saw their first porn magazine. Link to comment
