kabira Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Isn't KT English citizen. He had nothing to lose, He followed India number 1 team and now England will be number 1 so he can always keep following number 1.
jaggadaku Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 It's pathetic performance by India which has made them look far superior
The Realist Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Frankly I will be surprised if test cricket is going in its current format in 5 years time. Too long, too dull, too overpriced and people in today's world have ther priorities which don't involve sitting for 5 whole days waiting for a result. The pool of teams is far too small to be sustainable. Even Geoff Boycott, a strong traditionalist, says test cricket has another 10 years at the most.
jusarrived Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 most painful few weeks of supporting Indian team .. am taking off from watching cricket for some time .
CSK Fanatic Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Agreed. Cook = Sachin, knows how to build test innings, run machine for England Strauss = Gambhir, limited ability but mentally very tough players Trott = Sanga/Dravid, Mr. Consistent KP = Sehwag, he kills for opposition, crowd entertainer Bell = Amla/Laxman/Mahela. Pleasing to eyes, great technique Prior = Gilchrist, can be very dangerous with bat, good WK Bresnan = Kapil Dev, bowls heavy ball, bats decent, good timer of ball Broad = Once-in-a-generation player, who can change a game at the drop of a hat with bat and ball and also field Anderson = Zaheer Khan with much better fitness, makes best of home conditions Swann = Vettori, handy player motivates team decent bat, doesnt leak runs when not taking wickets like our Darthbhajan Tremlett = Tank, Great Khali, sorry unable to compare with cricketers of this era. and they have Panesar, Finn, Bopara, Morgan in reserve who are miles better than our reserves. All players are in mid 20s or early 30s, very young side. They can dominate for at least 5 years. Only thing they lack is a quality leg spinner, which I'm sure is around the corner from expat Asians population in UK.
daryl1985 Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 And replace him with???? This guy just bowled his heart out out and people want him to be replaced with Munaf Patel?:Another lazy guy to this already lethargic looking team Vinay Kumar? Super talent Abhimanyu Mithun ? Unadkat???Haddi-Pasli A washed up R.P Singh or Pathan or do you beleive in the mythical powress of Vaun Aaron and Yadav. As of now he is our proven performer in tests and definetely more talented than some of the names mentioned,Stop making him the scapegoat :hysterical: Great post.
Blue Panther Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 What a waste of talent. He had all the ingredients to be a good bowler, he just runied it with his antics. I am not sure he will be picked for the australian tour and i suspect he will just fade away from indian cricket.
ali0786 Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Cook will be out in the first 5 overs tomorrow.
akshayxyz Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Cook will be out in the first 5 overs day after tomorrow. FTFY
msb1991 Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Praveen's performance should show that we should value quality above pace. He is bowling against the best batting line up in the world currently and has done well. Imagine how well he'd do against poorer batting line ups or if he were given some support. If 120kph can get English batsmen out in their home conditions, it should be able to get wickets in any conditions against any batsmen. People will bring up subcontinental conditions, but then I bring up the fact that the primary consideration for selection should be domestic performance (which comes in subcontinental conditions).
Malcolm Merlyn Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 most painful few weeks of supporting Indian team .. am taking off from watching cricket for some time . Me too...........time for a drink?
kabira Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 I am still looking for a big batting performance,,450 to 500 runs. It should happen soon.
kabira Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 PK has surprised everyone. He is leading the attack right now. The bowl that he got Bell was cracker jacker..
Fontaine Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 I completely agree. The current South Africa/England + Eoin Morgan side is very good. Maybe the BCCI should learn from the ECB and announce anyone who plays in the IPL for two seasons is eligible for Team India Selection. It worked for the ECB.
pakexpress Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 For the time being joke will do nicely. Thanks for cheering us up team India. It has been a hard week with riots in Manchester. well said...I like it..
