Ultimate_Game Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 we would have fared much better than we have this series. At the end of the day if you allow bowlers to get on top of you, you will eventually get out. At least they should have done something, anything to counter English bowlers. Maybe they should have taken a page out of PK and RP's playbook.
achilles Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Raina should stick to winning IPL games on national highways.
punjabi_khota Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Raina should stick to winning IPL games on national highways. :giggle:
Ultimate_Game Posted August 21, 2011 Author Posted August 21, 2011 Raina should stick to winning IPL games on national highways. To be fair to him he did win us the WC. His knocks against Aus and Pak were the difference makers under pressure.
vvvslaxman Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 i never question his attitude .But his technique is highly suspect to become a successful test batsman. Not a single youngster don't look like having a long test career at this point. It might change. it is sure we have regressed.

Ultimate_Game Posted August 21, 2011 Author Posted August 21, 2011 To be fair we are looking for a test player. It's clear that he's not cut out to be a Test player - at least not at the moment. Pujara, Rahane, Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma need to be given a lengthy run in his place now.

Both had similar technical issues. One went on to be a great Test player, the other used another format to make a mark.

Crookbond Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 If Raina ends up being anywhere close to Bevan' date=' I wouldn't mind it at all.[/quote'] In terms of ODI's you may not but in terms of Test cricket you will mind. Think about it.
Ultimate_Game Posted August 21, 2011 Author Posted August 21, 2011 In terms of ODI's you may not but in terms of Test cricket you will mind. Think about it. If he's able to achieve what Bevan did for Aus in odis I won't mind. I will accept it and look at other prospects like Pujara, Rahane etc. for Tests. I am sure not everyone can cut it in all the formats.
rahulrulezz Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Big fan of this guy and he needs all the support. He is our future. Though I agree with OP, Raina should know his strength n go for aggressive n attacking cricket. Sad part is us Indians are ok if Dravid gets out bat-pad or edge to slip but if somelike Raina goes out playing agreesive shot, all of us pounce on him

It's their natural game and that's what made them successful in the first place. No point changing their approach at intl level.
Lord Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Raina should've batted like RP,RP should've bowled like Raina

That is why he is able to play quick and long. Raina's aggressive game generally don't last long.
